  1. Any trade needs at all, or just the cash mentioned?
  2. I humbly submit 5 for your consideration...all classics: Hard Day's Night...Beatles.....just for the iconic ringing G7sus chord Brown Sugar.....Stones......just nasty and yet a groove Train Kept a Rollin'...Aerosmith.....I tro right into a rippin' solo over a HEAVY rhythm. Heartbreaker.....Zep......the riff that sent chills down my spine the first time I heard it.....still does.... Highway To Hell...ACDC....simple , heavy, and it is the hook.....they were never better
  3. His trem picking is always so precise.....
  4. Angus on the first TNT solo.....one hanging note that is perfect.....
  5. Robbed Ford on the Springfield stuff? I hear Spyder all over the Working Class Dog album but whoever played lead on that and all the others was indeed great. crunchy, tasty solos and fills.
  6. Tell us about the amp!
  7. If you haven't sent out the picks yet I'll take a couple sets of the strings.
  8. I'll take some of the picks and will ensure some local kids get some....
  9. I have a Daphne Blue tele....a light blue is so pretty on these....
  10. No one mentioned BETH HART? Check out her Live at Paradiso CD.....holy cow! I also like some Michelle Shocked......also all the regulars, Ann & Nancy, Chrissie, Benatar, etc etc. Just read the Wilson's Heart bio...an excellent read.
  11. He is a great singer, songwriter, and a fabulous guitar player.....but why do that? And then refuse to sign the pieces???? WTF? Maybe they have history or something...he should buy that dude the vintage guitar of his choice....it's not like he'd notice the reduction in his profit margin. I don't understand things like that....
  12. I am a huge Jeff Beck fan, until Blow by blow, Wired, There and Back.....I just don't dig fusion, jazz based rock. I love blues based playing, hence I get Hendrix and LOVE the first 2 Jeff Beck Group albums.
  13. They aren't as bright as a maple-capped 'hog LP style but they sound wonderful and play great. You may have to swap pickups a bit as I did to find the magic .....but just a wonderful guitar.
  14. Such a shame those most excellent guitars don't command more money. I loved mine, but couldn't pass up an equally mint 360 straight up as an even trade. MONELMs are great.
  15. I have become friends with a guitar hero of mine...Greg Martin of the Kentucky Headhunters....dude is a Les Paul monster. He is just a nice , everyday guy. Once I was on their tour bus and Richard Young didn't get a joke on Letterman and he asked me to explain.....those guys are just like us....ordinary average joes who made it big. I would love to meet Page, Keith Richards, and Joe Perry. My time with Greg Martin will keep the star-freaking out thing downtown a minimum.
  16. I'll weigh in with an Emi Red Fang alnico.....magic in any amp......or a Weber 12f150.
  17. See my Avatar....I was late to the party as well, but always knew about and loved Hamers. I will gig that 2002 Artist Korina HB in a little over 4 hours....now I have 2 others.....an 81 Checkerboard Special and a 2005 Korina Special Jr....
  18. My 2002 Artist KorinaHB in jazzburst that I bought off MirageJake has Grover's, is slightly figured, plays incredibly easy, and sounds huge. I have a BL L90 in the bridge and a Vintage Vibe HS90A in the neck which is like a giant Strat pickup. It is my best guitar. I can do anything with it. I love my Korina Special Junior but I so wish it was jazzburst too.... See my avatar for a pic....
  19. The BL L90 is the absolute shit! Best humbucker ever created. That one is vintage....someone needs to snap it up and throw it in the. Bridge of any damn guitar you've got. They rock like o other and clean up O so pretty if you dial back the guitar's volume knob....I have a set that I will never get rid of.
  20. I take a Tech 21 TRI AC to every gig in case my amp fails....just run a guitar cable out to the P A and the gig is saved. Sounds good too.
  21. It really was cool to see two favs on the same ticket.....Brad looked like he REALLY enjoyed jamming with CT....at the end of the tune where all the band members take mini-solos, they included Brad...I thought that was classy as to me, that is a signature part of the song. I am still flying high from that show. Aero opened with Mama Kin....love that song!
  22. Cheap Trick opened and was great. Rick sounded great on all his humbuckered Hamers, including an interesting one that looked like a burst LP with an Explorer/Standard headstock. The entire band was very energetic and Tom sounded KILLER on the 12 string bass. Robin played well too. Brad Whitford guested on Ain't That A Shame. I haven't seen them live since the Dream Police tour in 1980. They were fantastic both times. The only thing missing was Clock Strikes Ten. California Man was a highlight as was, believe it or not, The Flame. Edit to add....Need Your Love was simply awesome....my fav tune from Budokan and they rocked it hard. Robin had a mic stand malfunction...the base came off or broke somehow...and he invited a woman he went to school with up onstage to help fix it...it was funny. Aerosmith was incredible. Highlights were Combination, Dude Looks Like A Lady, Come Together, and Walk This Way when Tyler brought a kid up onstage to do the Run DMC walk with him. Very cool. They played half the first album (!), nothing from Get Your Wings, 3 from Toys, 2 from Rocks, nothing from Draw The Line, Ruts, Hard Place, or Done With Mirrors. 2 from Vacation, 2 from Pump, Jaded, and my 2 favs from the new album. Guitars were Strats and LPs pretty much. Brad played Last Child on a Strat after a killer solo spot....I had never seen him use anything other than an LP on that song before. Perry played his old Telerat from the JPP days on the closer, Sweet Emotion. VERY cool. Joe Perry, though not as good a player as Brad, was my inspiration to play back in '78. He exudes cool as a player and watching him play reminds me of why I continue to play live. He remains my biggest inspiration. A GREAT show. The entire band was into it and Tyler remains the consummate showman. Only disappointments were: Train Kept a Rollin' wasn't played and nothing from Wings. Just felt like sharing.
  23. My fave guitar tone currently is my tele's middle position...clean up to a bit of hair.......Chimey jangle but there is cut there too....think Joe Perry's solo tone on Dude Looks Like a Lady.....I have a Rumpelstiltskin Broadcaster in the bridge...it is 10k but still twangy...lots of beef.....it gives a perfect mid position tone. Every SC I own is a Rumpel except for 2 sets of Vintage Vibes wound by Pete Biltoft. My Ric with Vintage Vibe toasters can get the same tone.....
