  1. I've owned several of these over the years. They are great guitars and Gibson put amazing maple tops on all of them. Here's the big issue I had, that cutaway is not comfortable for playing up high. It looks good in the pics but it puts you hand in an uncomfortable position and I used to get cramps in my arm while gigging.
  2. RIP Frank.
  3. Frank was a huge influence on my playing and my first real concert back in the late 70s. Glad to see him playing out again.
  4. I took a chance and bought this one from Amazon and it's friggin' awesome! Great deal, great quality board. For an extra $20 you can get it with a power supply. https://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Aluminum-Effect-Pedalboard-19-8x11-5/dp/B083TF3JF2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa
  5. Hmm, didn't the very early Hamers have original PAFs in them? That my justify some of the price.
  6. I don't think that's the one for sale. The OP says his is "Just LIke" this one.
  7. SOOO much misinformation in that video, or at least the small portion I watched. Original Gibson PAFs WERE NOT wax potted. After that the video lost ALL credibility.
  8. WOW! Wish I had $850 I could spend on a guitar right now.
  9. A friend of mine bought one of those new back in the early 80s. Sounded KILLER!
  10. I put on on my Les Paul Special. I put scratches on the top of my guitar and didn't work very well. Immediately removed it and returned it.
  11. DAMN, I've been looking at those for a while. Didn't know they were on sale. Four monthly interest free payments of $137.25 with PayPal may make me pull the trigger. I had a guitar sell-off earlier this year and sold my Gibson Faded Flying V. Really miss it. Thanks for posting.
  12. I saw them in the early 80s with UFO opening up. KILLER show.
  13. I've seen some youtube/facebook shorts. They sound good. Should fill the gap the GNR has left.
  14. DAMN, can't I do anything without that guy copying me? Seriously, didn't even think about Ace. Angus is one of my favorites but my SG has trapezoid inlays so I couldn't put the lightening bolts on it.
  15. Damn, that would be cool! Not sure if they do.
  16. OK, it's not a Hamer but I'd thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested in trying these. Spent $7 and really elevated the look of my Les Paul Jr. Special. Got them from here (no affiliationL: http://inlay-stickers-jockomo.myshopify.com/ Just finished putting them on. REALLY liking the look. Hopefully they'll stay during gigs. Before & after pics.
  17. Nice to see Vivian rocking again. I saw a youtube video where he mentions that his string gauge is 13s or something like that. Really good to see Vinnie on drums. I always thought his drumming was huge contributor to the Dio sound.
  18. Damn, that's tempting. I sold mine to a fellow member here and miss it.
  19. 2012 Les Paul Jr. Special. Originally came with P90s. I love the tone of P90s but can't stand the buzz. I put in a set of custom vintage spec wound Vintage Vibe P90 size Humbuckers. Sounds & plays KILLER!
  20. Thanks all. Gig went well. I got to use my Les Paul Special with the new Vintage Vibe PUs. They humbuckers that fit in a P90 PU slot. I had them custom wound. I ended up using my Budda SD18 and the rig sounded KILLER. The guitar is just a great guitar and the new PUs sounded fantastic. They are a lower PAF wind and got a great vintage tone. Kick in my TS10 for some overdrive and the leads were searing. Here's a pic of the Les Paul. I know it's not a Hamer but it's still a great guitar.
  21. My Classic Rock Band is at Hooker Resort in Poynette WI tonight - 8-24-13. I'll probably be playing my Les Paul Jr. Special with new Vintage Vibe HP-90 PUs. Using my Budda SD45.
  22. He stacked 'em (the doublewides).
  23. Friggin' Awsome! Congrats
