The Vectors are priced right for the HFC but I've seen 'em sell for more elsewhere. If I had the dinero, I'd snag that #23 to go with my #22. 6 Quote

For some people that 1 of 72 "exclusivity" is important. For others having a newer one is more important. "One of the last ones built!" etc. Having owned several of that run of 72 and newer ones, I think they are pretty much identical when it comes to build quality and awesomeness. 3 Quote

No doubt on the build quality and awesomeness although I've never seen or played any of the newer ones. Quote

L2A3 Posted April 28 Author Posted April 28 (edited) - On the Vectors I currently have three and had another in the past and I think they are all pretty similar (all high quality and awesome!) The later ones seem to have slightly larger necks and cleaner wood. My '97 is clean but I have seen a few on Reverb that have some type of heavy mineral staining or something in the grain. It looks ok when it is evenly dispersed, not so much when the body is two pieces and one half is covered and the other is clean. I do like that the '97 tailpieces line up flat against the pickguard like the original '58, but I prefer the later one's neck profile even if only slightly thicker and I like the fancier headstock inlay on the later ones. I do think the Ltd Ed ones might pull a few extra dollars but my later one has less wear so I just priced them the same. I heard the Reserve on that auction above was waaay over my price, I'd be a buyer if I found one for that shown bid price. If I was shipping they both would have already sold several times as I have had a lot of interest but apparently no one in FL is looking for a V. I'm going to suspend the sale of the '97 and send it off for a check up, fret dress (nothing big but has some wear in the cowboy chord area), and put the pup covers back on before putting it up on Reverb and under cutting the $7-10k ads that are there now. Hopefully with a wider audience it will sell locally and from filtering the actual Reverb sales I should be able to sell it and get a higher price even after the fees. I was hoping to avoid a 1099 but what can you do? It has been interesting (amazing really) some of the reactions I received on the pup covers being off. I never considered it a big deal as it can be reversed in roughly 20 mins without any trace but it seems to be a real concern for a lot of people, (maybe it is just the TGP crowd?).
