Hameritis fix?

So does anyone know of a fix for the Hameritis line around a neck joint?

I'm looking at selling a couple of my Hamer Standard Mahogany and would rather fix it than explain what it is to everybody first.

I think it used to be that you would make a pinhole with a tiny drillbit (on both ends of the itis?) and use water thin superglue, NOT gel. 

- Wait for more responses before starting work, and don't build your confidence with adult beverages beforehand!

It really depends on which type Hameritis it is... Is it the lifting of the clear coat mostly associated around the fret ends or discolorization of the neck joint glue?.. I seriously doubt you'll get glue into the neck joint... but definitely worth a try 🤔

None of mine have any neck joint issues, but a couple have lifting on the side of the fretboard that's really kind of annoying, my eclipse is the worst

You need super thin superglue and a precision "whip tip" style applicator. I have used it on hameritis on the sides and around the nut, and it works great. Sucks right into the space and you pretty much can't even see it anymore.

List it here first.  No explanations or fixes needed. Of course the HFC is filled with cheap bastards (I include myself as a cheap bastard) who are already sitting on standards they refuse to sell/buy since they remember what they used to go for.

I think the term you're looking for is "capillary action" 😉

It's just a light foggy line around the neck/glue joint I'm concerned about. Most of us here know about it... but to someone else, they'll worry the finish is going to just peel off in the next year or so.

If someone wants to buy it here, that's a plus... I just don't want to ship, specially in this eras case.

I have a Newport with the itis around the neck joint under the finish, but not at the fret board. I never thought about “fixing it”- it can’t be felt with the sense of touch, and it doesn’t offend my sense of sight so… 🤷🏼‍♂️Ymmv, I also love gtrs with fixed-broken necks and headstocks so…?

Was me, and I was in the market for another standard, I’d buy one like yours and never change it. ❤️

Some Hamer fans see it as an inevitable mark and don't worry about it... other people see it as something wrong...

I'm one that likes to embrace the Hameritis. Kinda like the big ole doggo with all of his endearing grunts, growls, and slurps. 😂

I have an artist that's sort of bad too, I really don't understand it because they obviously knew how to make perfect guitars for a long time..all of my eighties and even early 90s hamers are flawless, then this comes along
