The_Cali_Kid Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Nice but not $9k nice, and that’s from a guy that has paid overs for some nice Calis over the years 1 Quote
scottcald Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 I saw that. No Cali expert but that seems like a lot of money for that. 1 Quote
G Man Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Someone obviously doesn't want to sell their guitar, but needs to tell the wife they're trying to. Or crack. 1 2 Quote
The Shark Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Asking more than double the value precludes me from asking, "How much for just one"? Are they selling three? 1 2 Quote
Dave Scepter Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Great deal!.. someone should get this! I can't 🤣 1 2 Quote

Jeff R Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 The seller, Lance, is one of my best friends, actually more like my surrogate little brother, for well over 30 years. He just opened his first fretted brick and mortar, more specifically an exclusively vintage and high-end used gear storefront, in the north end of our state a little over two hours east of DFW. Because of the nature of the vintage and used gear market, Lance does a LOT of gear trades in both the storefront and on Reverb. I haven't asked him about this guitar specifically, I have no interest in it. But I can say just from Lance being my pal forever that his price is as flexible as it is optimistic... and it's in direct reflection of inquiries putting equally unrealistic, I mean, "optimistic," values on their prospective trade-ins. If you want to make what you feel is a more realistic cash offer, or trade(s) offer, on this guitar, reach out directly to Higher Octave Guitars & Gear, ask for Lance, and tell him Jeff from Carondelet and The Fret Shack sent you. Lance will bend over backwards to make something good happen for you. 6 2 Quote

Growing up we had a phrase for a similar situation: “Easy there, Don’be.” “‘DON’BE?!’” “‘Don'be’, what?!” “Don’be dick.” Edited July 31, 2025 by RobB 1 Quote
ARM OF HAMER Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 Thats a great looking guitar BUT although it IS his guitar and he can ask what he wants for it, getting it is a whole nother thing. I can't see anyone paying that $$$$ for that guitar. But as someone mentioned maybe an interest trade and some cash could get it done at a lesser price point. 1 Quote
