Ugh, it reminds me of the first pedal I ever bought. A Boss Octave OC-2. Everything that came out of it sounded like a turd farting. I hated it then. I hate it now.

Unfortunately I missed out on buying the Fart Pedal 2 a while ago.

This concept wreaks (no pun intended, but certainly accepted) of a quantum thought experiment.

"A positively-charged turd is emitted while farting and then that turd emits a fart...

I can know either its position or its spin, but not both..." 🧐

I'm going to steal that one.

I have a similar expression for wretched smells: "It smells like my foot took a shit!"

Saw that and it looked intriguing. Not sure it’s my thing, but interesting.

Where you been, btw?  Seemed like a bit of a mini draught of people posting old ass videos like they were brand new. 😂😜

Oh man, Heck of a week. I ended up in the hospital on the 17th. Thanks for asking, Travis. I'm back in the saddle though. I watched lots of "new" videos yesterday while sipping milk shakes and marked some to post here for you wonderful people. I'm glad I have a support group.

Will someone adapt their playing to find a use for that pedal, or will that pedal help someone get a sound they hear in their head?  Someone out there is going to make that Poly Shifter sound good.

When they were going through the specs of the XS-100, about 15 minutes in, they talked about it having a port for another expression pedal. Lee pointed out that someone somewhere is going to up-one on Tom Morello and figure out their own sound. He went on to say that the XS-100 is the future. So we can sit back, wait and see.

Growing up a die hard "The Jetsons" fan, I had really hoped for more.

Warren Haynes’ work on the first Govt Mule record featured the OC-2 and sounds amazing. Very important to set it so that it’s not crazy drastic (turd farting lol).

But some great examples of him using the octave as a thickener for solos. It’s like Insta-balls in a power trio setting.

If the new-fangled one has a vintage oc-2 setting that’s what I’d shoot for.

And the best version of the whammy pedal was the WH-2, bc you could toggle between two settings; I used the One-octave up whammy setting (for synthy sounding leads), and toggled to the harmony octave down (like the Warren Haynes octave thickener setting).

Used that for two records with a Synth-Funk band called “The Fuzzy Flow” led by saxophonist Shane Kirsch (ex P-Funk).

This is a pretty amazing song from the first Govt Mule album. The Leslie sound is actually a Korg G-4 pedal which sounds amazing. The solo at 3:30 is the OC-2 setting I was talking about:

This is the other type of solo I was referring to, using the Whammy; Shane Kirsch is a really interesting dude, I think, as a horn player and a composer, and when I played with him it definitely forced me to approach things differently. Solo after 3:30 uses a WH-2 into an 99 Fulltone Fulldrive2 and a Verbzilla set to the Octave setting (like “shimmer”; delayed sound pitched up an octave to make the ambience sound big). Hope you dig!

Ah yes, the 'brown' pedal... 😂

I bought one too, played with it for a bit, and put it up. I did find one cool thing it could do, however, which was a fairly convincing tone for 'Space Truckin'.
