DaveH Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago What was the first album you ever bought? For me (I was 13), it was this one: 2 Quote
Submariner85 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I bought a used copy of Kiss Alive 2 at a flea market for a few dollars of my own money. I was probably in the 3rd or 4th grade. 3 Quote
Dave Scepter Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago When I was young, I had a lot of albums that were given to me from various family members, but with my own money I purchased KISS Alive 5 Quote
mathman Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) 11 year old kid and loved the look of this cover. Sly and the Family Stone. There's a Riot going on. Led to me like funk and bass. Bought at a Ben Franklin Five and Dime store. Edited 8 hours ago by mathman 5 1 Quote
veatch Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Great topic. I wish my answer was more cool like what's above... : / Mine was this. Lots of lame on this thing, but it did have some gems - Long Cool Woman and All the Young Dudes if I recall. In my defense, my brother talked me into it. I was 5 at the time... 4 Quote
seeker Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I honestly dont remember. My older brother had just gone off to college when I got the bug, so blew through his collection first. Bands that had either broken up or died; Beatles then Jimi. If this wasn't the first, it would have been in the first five. Eventually saw him live with his original lineup. 5 Quote
Disturber Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago First album on cassette, recorded from LPs: A side - Rolling Stones Rolled Gold. B - side Beatles Sgt Pepper. (long gone, wore it out) First real album I got that was from the music store: cassette with Rod Stewart - Atlantic Crossing. (still have it) First LP I got for my birthday: ABBA - Greatest hits. (still have it) First album that I bought myself (actually my parents helped me buy it): KISS - ALIVE (still have it) Quote
RobB Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Either, “Jackson 5’s Greatest Hits”, or, “Elton John’s G/H.” Once I got Beatles, “Hey Jude” compilation, there was no turning back. Edited 4 hours ago by RobB Quote

RobB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 13 minutes ago, hamerhead said: Never knew there was such a thing. Why? It was (or is) illegal in Germany to display NSDAP imagery. I don’t know if it is illegal in other countries. The, “SS”, in the Kiss logo is verboten, so they had to use the other font. I can respect their decision on the imagery. I mean, you don’t want the kinder tying their shoes in little knot-zies, now do ya? 1 Quote
