Punkavenger Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Dang! Where do live that you can finance a house by selling off some equipment? Around here the average price for a house is $900,000.00 with a cash down of $250,000.00! And thats no mansion... just a "regular" house The good ones start at about 5 mil
cmatthes Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Yep - same here in DC!! You've got to sell a LOT OF GEAR to raise house dough around here. I did that almost 10 years ago when prices were between 1/4 and 1/3 of what they are now in my neighborhood. Sold off all some really cool vintage stuff.Yikes. You almost need to get Upstate Guitars' or Bruce Sandler's (asking) prices to get ya there!
doody Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'm looking at a house just down the street from me. Nicely redone 2 bedroom bungalo with all new drywall, insulation, carpet, new kitchen. I think I can get it for 55 - 60k as she's been trying to get 65k for like a year with no takers. Its about 150 FEET from my desk at work. Downside, no garage and no room to add one. The one big perk of living in a smaller city in Iowa.(possibly the only perk).Oh, the first house I bought back in 1995, 55k for a 4 bedroom ranch with 2 baths and 2 stall garage:P
cmatthes Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Yikes! You can't even buy a STUDIO APARTMENT near me for less than $200k!Sorry for the derail - I'll bring it back to say that Cswilder is a GREAT guy to do business with. Fair, honest and knows what he's doing.
Turdus Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 18 Watt Clone in Purple Levant. Weber kit built to the Trinity SIII layout. Sozos, Atoms, and Cliff jacks. $650 shipped. Is that a combo or head?
Jason01 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 When Doody's done with it the house is only worth about 12k.

The Austin and San Antoino areas are especially reasonable, given the overall state of amenities in the area. I would guess prices are roughly half what they are here in the Baltimore area.
peedenmark7 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 please send pics and details of the '76 master volume... thanks!
