hardheartedbill Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 funny, I was thinking " too much frickin maple" LOL that would be sexy in korina or mahogany IMOplus, does anyone see a blended heel or what?
serial Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I'm with Bill, but I was thinking surf green!
Mike_C Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 funny, I was thinking " too much frickin maple" LOL that would be sexy in korina or mahogany IMOor Ash or Alder
Guest pirateflynn Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 funny, I was thinking " too much frickin maple" LOL or Ash or AlderI agree with this. There's not enough of a departure for me...... basically it's the same recipe they have been working with on the Monaco series. Now, a bolt-on neck, 6 inline headstock, swamp ash body with the sustainblock and those new pickups. That would be sexy and very different for Hamer.
phoenix Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 This is why I love Hamer. Jol talked me out of custom ordering a thinline tele this summer by telling me he had a model with most of my specs coming out (Kinar vs sustainblock) and I would save alot of money if I waited a few months. Princes among men.
Robert1950 Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 First, a question - what does the 4 way switch do? Secondly, I thought it reminded me of a Heatley Model T
teleman Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Spoke with Jol real quick. He says some are going out to artists and they should start shipping for dealers after the 1st of the year. There should be a video on the Hamer site soon, similar to that Jol/Seymour clip. The Talladega has been in the works for about a year. Finally, Jol says it will do "what a Tele will do and a whole lot more". Can't wait! Jol says this Hamer will do what a Tele will do and whole lot more???? I've been waiting years for him to say that!!! I see one of these in my future...I just have that feeling......
hamertek98 Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 "Dont put your curse on my family, Ricky Bobby!!!"It's gonna come at you like a spidermonkey!
mc2 Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Bah Humbug! I already HAVE a longscale TLE with a maple neck and one-piece top
serial Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Yeah, but yours has that useless pickup in the bridge with a humbucker AND a single coil. Sheesh!
Citrus Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 OK BCR, Black, totally bound''BCR jr" neck carvethat is after a certain piece of redwood finds its way to me.
KorinaHound Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I was wondering why I couldn't sleep. I check in here and now I know. What a fine looking guitar. 4-way switch with series in the back sounds like the ticket.KorinaHound
Sentinel Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 The Hamer site is now saying that the Retail/List is $3,100? Is that a typo? I thought it was listing at $3,800... They have changed the price on their site now...."Retail: $3,800"
Michael_ Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I think it'll look good in plain ol' mahogany.
salem Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Does the Talladega remind anyone of the Tom Anderson Cobra?
edgar_allan_poe Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Does the Talladega remind anyone of the Tom Anderson Cobra?A little but the Anderson is a bolt-on and this is a set neck.
Guest pirateflynn Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Does the Talladega remind anyone of the Tom Anderson Cobra?Yes, there are more than a few companies that have similar shaped guitar. Anderson's Droptop T is 25.5" scale but does have a bolt on neck as mentioned. It debuted at least 15 years ago.
salem Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 If the; Talladega "retails" at $3800, what will be the street price? About $2,000? I'm very curious about the sound of the new pickups, and what pickup combinations can be selected with the pickup selector.

New models are rarely discounted that deep. $2000 would be almost $300 cheaper than a 40% discount. My guess would be that they would be around 30% for the first few months....give or take of course.
