atquinn Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 thats a friggin archtop TLE !!!!!!Could a set-neck archtop Cali be far behind?Yes.
BTMN Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 As big a NASCAR fan as I am, how can I have Daytonas, and NOT have a Talladega? Oh Man.
sw686blue Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I can't stop looking at this guitar. Saying that it's cool is the understatement of the year!
cmatthes Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 That's how I roll... Here's another lame photo edit for Doody:
sw686blue Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Where's my checkbook?!? I was thinking blueburst or tobaccoburst!
Mike_C Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Come on Chris Where is my favorite color Cognac Burst?
AdmiralB Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I like it. But by the time I got it the way I wanted it, it'd be a $5K guitar.
cmatthes Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Come on Chris Where is my favorite color Cognac Burst? Best I can do - that's not an easy one to fudge.
stonge Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 thanks, Chris. not that you are facilitating or anything (if caller ID picks up mrs stonge's number, I'd suggest letting that go to voicemail).emerald green with korina back/neck (emerald just screams over korina - almost neon lol) with a boatneck profile and an ebony board. would go nicely with the 2FIG Phantom Custom sustainblock and the emerald korina Junior. needs just a little pearloid for that pimp-tastic vibe. hmmm
NickHolden Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I gotta have one.....better start doing the "Honey Do's" now. Man what a beautiful guitar.
bruce919 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I have been looking at that guitar over & over. I like the fact the Sustain Block is back on a Standard model. I do not see me buying one of these. To each his own.
Travis Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Give me the blue with the natural mahogany back, and a Duncan Custom/APH-1 combo. Mmmmmmmmm.
Steve Haynie Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I want one with a flat top, Floyd, ebony fretboard with boomerangs, and a Standard headstock.
Guest Meshuggah Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Is the sustain block modeled after the narrow or wide spacing of the 78 models?
tafkathundernotes Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I want one with a flat top, Floyd, ebony fretboard with boomerangs, and a Standard headstock. I'm not a Floyd guy, but 'rangs and a standard headstock would look great on that. Time to start saving up......
SteveC Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Wow!Only option I'd want would be a 2nd vol control (2 vols, 1 tone). As long as that's not a stupid-expensive upcharge to do, I could see one of these in my future!Cool idea - hmmm, all the color options.......
peedenmark7 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Is the sustain block modeled after the narrow or wide spacing of the 78 models?gotta believe thats a narrow spaced sus block... I'd be tickled pink if it were the wider though...a step in the right [my] direction for sure.. though it screams huber dolphin...I'm kinda tired of this color burst though...time for some more up to date vibrant dyes and finishes.are the tone pros klusons a sealed quality gearing or a replica of the sh!tty ones gibson used back in the day that we all swapped out to grovers/schallers?and are those p90s or something totally different ?, say like a '70s tele with the diagonal poles? I just dont care for p90s at all...I bet that thing would scream through my vibro kings !
Guest cruster Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 That's how I roll... That's a nice PS job. I think a Talladega with the indigo on the outside fading to that "stonewashed bluejeans" color that someone posted a picture of (I think it was on a Monaco, but it could've been in the Standard thread) would look killer. With an indigo back and natural (masked off) binding on the top in lieu of the standard stuff, it'd look killer.
ctrixie Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 That's a fine looking guitar - in ANY color and it's great to have a new model to agonize about!
Guest Mike Lee Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 If you look closely the pickup polepieces are not screws, they look solid, and about the size of the pole on a Duncan Quarter Pounder. They could be Fender style magnetic pole, which would get closer to Tele tone than the Phat Cat. Interesting...

AdmiralB Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Looks like a standard slot-head screw to me Mike.Nope, they're the QP AlNiCo studs.
