ZR Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Thanks for the pix, but bleah, nothing for me.Yep, me too. Nice guitars I'm sure but nothing that floats my boat.
DavidE Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 $9k list for a Korina Std?????Those Hamers look nice, but just variations on existing themes.
Steve Haynie Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 How come no Vectors? Vectors are soooooo last year.
hamerhead Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Gotta love all the Sustain Blocks. Damn! I want an Earthen Maple Sustain Block Standard.
geoff_hartwell Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I kinda want to lick that earthen maple top.Is that wrong?
zorrow Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 How come no Vectors? Vectors are soooooo last year. But at least only one would have made my day... this year!
bubs_42 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 +1 for the Earthen, that guitar is bad ass... But was the hell is up with the rest of the line up. Not diggin it.
marcnorth Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 The white is cool but I don't care for the tort truss rod cover.
bbobb24 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Is that going to be a "standard" finish option?
elduave Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Is that going to be a "standard" finish option?I'd say no. The '08 price list is out and there are no changes to the finish list.
Matt Mattson Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I kinda want to lick that earthen maple top.Is that wrong? They will probably insist you use some sort of dental dam.

silentman Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 My God - 9K? Gone are the days of bargain Hamers. Even with all the 'custom' stuff on there that seems a bit high. I guess we should assume that the rest of these are priced similarly. I guess the $$$ goed to all the R&D.
cmatthes Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 NAMM guitars are often showpieces with custom variations on stock models for a reason (eyecatching, show off some of the maker's capabilities, limited editions, etc.). Although the prices did take their annual hike, these are more akin to "Private Stock" guitars than standard orders. I'd expect the list price to be a good bit higher than normal for NAMM guitars. I also think that Hamer is looking to fit more into that higher-priced niche to compete head-to-head with the PRS PS and boutique builders. Pricing seems comparable, anyway.
