RacerX Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 This one is gonna hurt... so much so, that this is the 3rd time I've typed this listing over the last couple weeks but I just could not pull the trigger...true story. I got this one from another HFC'r about a year ago. Pro-repaired headstock (bcrgreg) that was very well done is the only thing keeping this from being a 3k holygrail sunburst imo. OK, disclosure out of the way, now to the good stuff... Killer flame and Cherry burst. a lightweight at 7.5 lbs! BIG neck! super low number (7 0051)currently has RioGrande pickups that sound great. The harmonics just jump out of this thing. I have since added a super nice original case (that I paid a fortune for) and I also have a set of period correct vintage Dimarzios that can go with if you want to go back original. (but I'll bet the Rio's sound better) Asking $OLD/shipped cont/us. Add XXX if you want the Dimarzios too. Sorry no trades and ppal is cool if we split the fee. I think I could get more for this at a show where someone could play it in person, or maybe on feebay but I'd rather keep it in the hfc family and maybe have a shot at getting it back someday Thanks for looking! Mark. (last pic used a blasting flash to show the repair, this area is tinted darker in person)
Guest pirateflynn Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 That sure looks like a clean repair. Nice!I'm interested in the pickups should the buyer not want them!
JohnnyThunders Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I had that one for a while, got it from serial. Neck was too big for me, great guitar.
RacerX Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 And she's a goner 2 minutes...gotta be a HFC record or something! Sort of local is good...hope this one finds it's way back to me someday Mark.
bubs_42 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Just when I thought it was safe to look at the HFC with Money in my pocket. "It's a 155.5 miles to Chicago, I've got three quarters of a tank of gas, I don't smoke, it's snowing, and my wife is going to leave me." Quote Bubs42
BubbaVO Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Beautiful guitar. Really sharp. Nice job Bubs.
belgian Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 2 minutes... Can't you post this kind of stuff in the middle of the night, so we get a chance too.
bubs_42 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Hey, I got off work early and just sat down at the computer.
BCR Greg Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 That is the guitar shown on Ed Roman's site as being "Repaired", it had Candy Apple Red poorly sprayed over a shitty repair. I bought it, then sold it to Serial, then it went elsewhere.I guarantee that headstock repair REGARDLESS of who owns it.
specialk Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Congrats, bubs! Looks like a keeper and a sweet deal. Conrad, I don't think anyone stands a chance here when bubs has cash in one hand and a mouse in the other,
mykel Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 yeah, that's a nice one. got to strum a couple chords on it, i believe. glad you sold it fast, mark. not a temptation for me, then.
Pieman Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 So what was the asking price.. It has been marked over as SOLD. Thanks. t
