atquinn Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 A Centaura like none I've ever seen?!? Probably has an ebony board too. Not a ridiculous price if it's in good condition.-Austin
gatorbyte007 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 This Guitar was lost for some time. it has been listed for a couple months without pics. I called a couple times but they never sent pics. must of just found it. Looks cool for sure!!!
Feynman Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 It certainly looks interesting to me, and could be within my arbitrary budget. Anyone live close to the Matthews, NC GC? If so, I might have an HFC favor to ask...
Feynman Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 Won't they ship stuff? -Austin Yeah - I just thought if someone was local they could check it out in person. However, I'm not nearly patient enough for that, so I'm on the phone with them now...

Jimbilly Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I just saw that too, that's pretty unusual, and cool!
Feynman Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 It sounds nice from the description. He is going to check and see if it has a case and call me back. That's all I got so far...You know you guys will be the first to know. I have no real friends.

Wazabi...... Count me in for a Dragon Roll. And, Mitch, just go ahead and buy it. You know someone here will take it off yer hands if you don't like it.
geoff_hartwell Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 And, Mitch, just go ahead and buy it. You know someone here will take it off yer hands if you don't like it. Ha ha - so true
Rhys Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Lyle Workman has got a red Centaura with crown inlays - he uses it on a Todd Rundgren DVD I've got. That's the only one I'd seen up to now.
atquinn Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Lyle Workman has got a red Centaura with crown inlays - he uses it on a Todd Rundgren DVD I've got. That's the only one I'd seen up to now. And here it is in action, although I'd always thought it was a Diablo (YouTube video quality ain't the best ) -Austin
Rhys Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 The DVD I was referring to is the "2nd Wind Live Recording Sessions" one. Having looked again at the DVD, the picture of Lyle in the 2nd Wind CD & the Youtube video you posted I'm really not sure what it is, though it could well be a Diablo II. Here's another picture of it:
HamStd Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Sorry Guys, but it is actually a Chapparal. Custom made for Lyle in orange sparkle (he also had a matching Californian, but it was late to the photoshoot ), sustainiac pickup, ebony fingerboard with the trapezoid inlays, unfinished birdseye maple neck. Plays GREAT and sounds even better!!!! Enjoy. Peter.
Feynman Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 I am allergic to gold hardware, but that's pretty darn cool.
atquinn Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Awesome. Lyle must be a tall fellow; that body looks small on him! -Austin
Jason01 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Thats the same color as a cali I saw in a music store way back when that got me into hamers in the first place! It really made me wish I was right handed.
Rhys Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Thanks for the photos.I emailed Lyle via his website last night to find out what the model was, and indeed it is a Chapparal. That's probably the best Chapparal I've ever seen.
HamStd Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 HamStd,Do you actually own this guitar now?Hi Rhys: Yes I do (unless Lyle wants it back, then I have never seen this guitar before in my life). If you need any more pics or info, let me know.Peter
zorrow Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I have no real friends. Well, given the kind of person you are, I think you do. But come one day to Montreal and we'll make it appear more "real", dude.
