jmp Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Hi, I'm selling this one-of-a-kind goldtop Hamer Custom that was built in 2006 for a good friend of mine. This was a special order goldtop version with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. It is in near mint condition with a few nearly microscopic pick scratches on the top. The guitar features stainless frets that were PLEK'ed by Joe Glaser. There is NO fret wear to speak of. The original Seymour Duncan pickups were removed and replaced with Tim White Timbuckers with gold pole pieces. The original Duncans will be included. The Hamer weighs about 8.5 lbs. on my analog postage scale. COA included, as shown. No longer for sale. Tim White Timbuckers with gold pole pieces. Body is one piece mahogany. Brazilian rosewood fretboard.
gorch Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Never heard of Timbuckers before. Quick stop at google: They are said to be the best and are not made anymore. Ought to go for >$500 alone as far as I read quickly in forums. The guitar seems to be fairly priced then.Personally, I am not for the gold tops. The pups were worth the deal alone I guess.

The pups were worth the deal alone I guess. They are extremely nice pickups with more clarity than the Duncans, IMO. Very authentic vintage PAF sound. My friend had 2 or 3 sets of the Timbuckers that we put in various guitars. He also had a set of "double creams," but we both agreed the zebras were the way to go in this Hamer. -Mike
Punkavenger Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 That fretboard is just bombtastic ... and crowns too! Wow!
