Hi,

I'm selling this one-of-a-kind goldtop Hamer Custom that was built in 2006 for a good friend of mine. This was a special order goldtop version with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. It is in near mint condition with a few nearly microscopic pick scratches on the top. The guitar features stainless frets that were PLEK'ed by Joe Glaser. There is NO fret wear to speak of. The original Seymour Duncan pickups were removed and replaced with Tim White Timbuckers with gold pole pieces. The original Duncans will be included. The Hamer weighs about 8.5 lbs. on my analog postage scale. COA included, as shown.

No longer for sale.

That fingerboard is off the charts!

Never heard of Timbuckers before. Quick stop at google: They are said to be the best and are not made anymore. Ought to go for >$500 alone as far as I read quickly in forums. The guitar seems to be fairly priced then.

Personally, I am not for the gold tops. The pups were worth the deal alone I guess.

They are extremely nice pickups with more clarity than the Duncans, IMO. Very authentic vintage PAF sound. My friend had 2 or 3 sets of the Timbuckers that we put in various guitars. He also had a set of "double creams," but we both agreed the zebras were the way to go in this Hamer.

We put the double creams in this flamed Standard that I acquired and sold about two years ago:

If my wife played guitar she would grab it right away. AWESOME instrument!

Too bad trades are out...I have a Rickebacker 650 and a Lil Dawg 5E3 Tweed Deluxe clone that are excess to me now...

Ha! I knew it would just be a matter of a few hours before someone caught the CL listing!

Sure 'nuff. Don't see too many Hamers down here, and many of those have been mine.
