Hey baj2k,

Welcome to the HFC!!! I like your 2005 Studio Custom and 2004 Monaco Superpro. Cool guitars. You're also a northern Californian kind of guy. We'll have to meet up with a few of the other HFC members and trade some licks. Come by again, put up some posts, pics and responses. It always cool to hear from new Hamer owners about their guitars.

Damn. I was just lusting for that very guitar--do a search for my user name or "triple threat" (one of the many monikers for that series of guitars). I'd love to try one out. Tell us how you like it.

And welcome to the forum. Pay no mind to the offers to buy your treasured guitars for $350. That particular lowball offer is a running joke here.

Nice guittie!

Gibson must be haemorraging by now from the intensity and quality of the competition, hehehe...

Welcome to the nuthouse... I will never offer you 350 dollars for any of your guitties - don't worry.

I'll ask you to make a charitable donation instead and give 'em to me for free!!!

:)

Welcome aboard and thanks for the pics. Nice introduction and you'll find lots of helpful people here if you should have any Hamer-related questions.

Welcome! That is a beauty. I was a little unsure about how those guitars would go over when I heard the concept, but the proof is in the product and things are exceeding expectations.

Nice guitars! That Hamer Studio is very drool inducing.

Damn.  I was just lusting for that very guitar--do a search for my user name or "triple threat" (one of the many monikers for that series of guitars).  I'd love to try one out.  Tell us how you like it.

Well this should tell you how much I like it... if you look at all of my guitars, LP R9, 50th Ani. Masterbuilt '54 Strat, PRS McCarty, PRS Hollowbody II, and the NAMM Hamer Monaco SP, guess which one is my #1? Yup, the "Triple Threat". I did change the pups, I'm not a big SD fan. I put WCR Goodwoods (WCR Goodwood Pickups) in it and it is even more awesome than before.

With the Brazilian neck (and I know this is very subjective) it seems to have more pop to it, if that makes sense. My PRS McCarty has a braz neck too and I noticed the same thing on it. The sustain with the increased neck angle is very noticeable. The Monaco SP is a fantastic guitar but this Studio "Triple Threat" is demonstrably better.

One other thing, I came in to the Hamer family after I attended one of Jol Dantzig's workshops when I was in Boulder Colorado on a business trip. I buy a lot of guitars from Wildwood Guitars in Louisville (5mi. outside Boulder). The owner Steve Mesple, a great guy and fantastic player is a passionate Hamer enthusiast, and he invited me to one at his store. It was by far the most interesting workshop I have ever been to on any subject. Jol has forgotten more about vintage guitars and their history than I will ever know.

When I saw how the Hamers where made, the craftsmanship and attention to the most minute detail, for example look inside the control cavity on a Hamer and it's sanded and finished with what looks to be some kind of shielding paint, and by comparison the control cavity on my $4k LP R9 looks like a 8th grade woodshop student carved it out with a dull chisel (still is an awesome guitar though). :)

Anyway, then when played some "off the shelf" US made Hamers and compared them to high end Custom Shop guitars costing 2, 3, and even 4, times as much and the Hamer's were as good or better then all of them. I was sold!!!

Jol and Steve told me they were working on plans for some custom, special order, guitars, they weren't called "Triple Threat" at the time, so I decided to pony up and get one. It was well worth the wait.

This sums up how I feel about my "Triple Threat"... All of my guitars are for sale if the price is right... but, the price will never be right for my "Triple Threat". Well... never say never, but certainly not $350 :):):)

p.s. WWG still has a few "Triple Threat" Hamer's left. Hamers @ Wildwood Guitars :)

Try to take the factory tour sometime, or at least search out one of the "virtual tours" on the internet. After walking through the factory and seeing how Hamer does it, I told several people, "I want to pay more for their guitars!"

Incredible instruments.

Welcome and nice selection of Hamers there. Love your review regarding all of the brand X's. It's nice to have a new member with some love for guitars step in and say "I'll take a Hamer, please."

Nice, very nice.
