Feynman Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I can't afford it now, but it appears to be all kinds of perfect. I remember when Greg unveiled the photos of it the first time and my heart skipped a beat.Anyway, one of youze better snag this thing! This needs to stay in the family.RS/Fralin PAFs (original pickups as well)Stunning topBound neckEtcNine hours to go and at a silly low price so far...I'm sure it will jump considerably, but you have to do your part.

Feynman Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Pics! I sure wish I had the money for this one.
Hgb5000 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 As much as I dislike certain things about paypal, I always like the tracking ability and the protections that come with using paypal. I would feel much better with this guitar if it were paypal or if it were closer and I was going to make the swap in person. It is a stunning guitar.

cmatthes Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I think mine was the first bound neck Tally,,, inlays too! THAT'S the Tally I'd sell a kidney for!!
BubbaVO Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 That's the perfect Tally. I think the binding along the neck and inlays really give it a more finished look than the regular one. I hope someone here goes for it.
Feynman Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 I'd be bidding my ass off on this one had I any disposable income. This one kind of hurts me at the moment. I want it to get snagged by an HFC member (pref Austin) just to have a shot at it later.

Anyway, it will probably go for more than I want to spend (although I might throw a bid in there anyway ) and I have my fingers in other pies right now, so... -Austin
BCR Greg Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Other than Pete wiping my logo(shakes fist at the bastard), I can honestly say that that particular Tally is the best one that I have played, and I have played quite a few.Changing it out to buckers is a good thing. The stock pickups always left me wanting.
petemfa51 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 This is my guitar....Purchased it new from Greg....Never been out of my home.....Other than the pic Greg took on the pallet.....ALL other photos are from the VERY DAY the auction started....This guitar is in NEW conditon.....I don't beat on my guitars....Mostly a blues player at lower volumes in my home....NO ONE.....will be disappointed with this Hamer....It's as light as a feather and it SINGS!!!And it IS the first bound neck Tally......The other one pictured in this thread (with victory inlays) arrived at BCR well after mine was sold. I remember seeing it on this site. As a matter of fact...Greg had to beg Hamer to do the binding on the neck and advised them to just lay the frets OVER the binding instead of trimming the binding after the frets were installed. Any Tally done now-a-days has the side of the frets covered by the neck binding.FIRST ONE!!! Ask Greg...he spec'd it and ordered it.....I'm just passing along the story!! Not that it matters that much....But.......20 years from now it'll be one of those tid bits that becomes far more interesting with age and "vintage Hamer history"Greg.....Sorry about the Logo man.....I wasn't sure if you'd want it left on there.....But I did give you a nice shout out in the description!!!!As far as Pay Pal goes.....NO thanks....Check my ebay feedback....100%. I treat people the way I'd like to be treated....Very simple.
dgstandard Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 That is an incredibly beautiful guitar! Good luck with your auction!!

petemfa51 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 YES.......SUSTAIN BLOCKS DO RULE!!!!MUCH more comfortable than the wrap tail pieces their using on the Tally Pro's. More adjustability too!!

I did not recognize the ebay name and I did not remember seeing anything on the HFC about the guitar so I wasn't sure if it was a member. That makes a lot of difference when the seller has a good reputation on the HFC.
Feynman Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 Shot right past my budget - sounds like someone is gonna' get one fine Tally.
gorch Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hit a great price, finally. Actually, a breakthrough to the price drops recently. I was considering a bid, but it went out of bounds for me. So it happens.
