Murkat's house of guitar orphans...

I am so bad. I buy guitars. I fix them up big time. Then put them up for "adoption"... Some I can not let go,

or they don't wan to go.

I like Floyds.... on Cali's ;) Some saw this on ebay. It spoke to me. Had to have it. I love it. I love everthing about it... except for the pups. I plan on changing them out, and then I installed a sustainer in a LP, and I liked that. So I called up Allen at Sustainiac and came up with a drop in no modify kit for the cali  this will be very cool.

this poor thing been on ebay for quite a while. Liking the cremona burst Cali, I won this on a decent coin.

As usual, I am a sucker for Hamer orphans in distress. It had yellow model paint covering the beauty marks over time, natural aging from playing. Got an original hamer floyd for it, THank you GusS, SD stk single pup, thank you Austin! and did a few other needed issues to it and it is a monster. The cali layout is my prefered choice to a strat derivative to shred.

re radius board 12", refret, Mycarta nos nut

ABR-1 mod, WB's pickups, cts pots, the kitchen sink... Cool ride and very tone full

Nice work.

Wish I could find someone local to me who I could trust to look after my babies !

I'll be interested in seeing how the Cali Elite works out. On Susatainiacs site they make a big deal about how they don't recomend the system on extended fret guitars, but it seems like a natural fit to me. Now if you just replaced all the crappy gold hardware with black hardware while you're at it, you'll be all set!

Speaking of sustainers, that install you did is amazing. LOVE that guitar!

Thanks Jay for tweaking the Tele! Very cool checking out the workings of "Murkat Manor" and cranking your Axe-Fx. But not happy with the new gear lust instilled by playing the Axe-Fx, now my next purchase.....

This thinline body is actually from a shop that specializes in all things Telecaster called Rutters Guitars. But the solid Indian Rosewood neck will be a Warmoth w/ Stainless Steel 6100 frets. Joe Barden "Modern" Bridge and a Dimarzio Area T neck will make a unique blend for a "Telerocker"!

Sadly, I missed the Jackson.... But their is always a next time!

Let us know how the sustainer works on the cali. I was thinking about doing it to mine but wasn't sure if the slanted pup would be a problem.

It does not work on the Cali due to the slant in the pickup. I talked extensively with Alan. I asked him what would be the worst case scenario,

He replied that Nancy Wilson of Heart attempted the same thing to her Cali. Due to the slant/ angle, the unit would sequel like a pig, the driver has to be perpendicular with the strings no matter what. Hence my Hunt for an alternative "shedder" donor for the unit.

The sustainiac unit is a good mate in the Soloist.

Just cut the fretboard square.
