BigDaddyDRP Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I have an 1983 Hamer USA Blitz that I am thinking of parting out as the neck is cracked by the headstock, it had been repaired once before years ago, and it is beat to shit. How I wish it was in even good condition right now. It has the original Sustain Bridge, Original Schaller Tuners w/Hamer on them and original Duncan PUP's. It likely has original electronics however the shafts on the two volume pots are broken. If anyone is interested let me know. If you are interested in the entire guitar with case I will entertain that as well, if you pay for shipping.
sixesandsevens Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 On the off chance everyone else falls through, I'll take it.
serial Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Damn-any chance you'd sell the sustain block?! If not, I could use the case...
BigDaddyDRP Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 The complete guitar and case has been tentatively sold.Thank you all for your interest. I didn't expect so many responses so quickly.Dom
serial Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Your old one from high school was directly responsible for me picking this one up! Pierce Music had one back in 81 (used) that I wanted SO badly. My father didn't understand that there was nothing wrong with a good used guitars, so I ended up w/a Les Paul that I never bonded with.
cmatthes Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Actually, Earle Teat Music in Dover had that Explorer and the Sunburst Dean Vee that we didn't get...because they were "used". Pierce was the Hamer dealer.
Ting Ho Dung Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 Wait, your dad bought you a brand spanking new LP instead of a used guitar? That is so not my dad. My dad bought me a $16 "K" guitar to see if I'd stick with it.
cmatthes Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 No - you got it all wrong, Michael. Our Dad ALLOWED us to spend our hard earned money (from long hours at a crappy fast food gig) on new guitars, not "used" guitars. His thinking was, NEW guitars come with a warranty and can be returned or repaired if there are problems. We had to pay for those ourselves.
serial Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 ^^^THIS^^^Four kids on a schoolteacher's salary in 1982 didn't go very far. No silver spoons there. My point was that he didn't get that there is little that can go wrong with an electric guitar. I was pissed because the Les Paul was about $200 more than the Explorer which meant about a months' more burger flipping.
Ting Ho Dung Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Ahhh....Gotcha. My dad was of the mind set that I wouldn't stick with it so buy him a 16 dollar K guitar so he wouldn't have much in it when I did quit. What kid wouldn't quit of that's all you had to play? So I went out and bought my Electra for I think $250 (used) or so I earned by mowing lawns. I then got a Peavey Classic 50 for about the same coin (new). That's when I learned the intro to Smoke On The Water, LOL. So I took a different approach with Brandon and got him a decent classical guitar and very expensive lessons. And it paid off. When you think of it, he's already made 180 thousand dollars before he graduated high school. I have a feeling though that the next 180 grand is going to be much more difficult for him to come by.

His education opportunities are priceless. If he can do what he loves, also priceless. Very cool.
