murkat Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Times have been hecktic around here. So, here is some things that are in the works. also, I am trying out imgur instead of photobucket (it's getting bad with there new updated version). First of all, If you finnd one of these, buy it. A real Hagstrom viking, with the pseudo looking humbuckers (but they are not). The Tones that these pups put out are godly. Kravits esq. This was in for a rebinding on the fret board and other lil touch ups, but retain its aged appearances. mmmmm..... an SSII in for a repair... this will be avail for sale late winter. BAD break...
murkat Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 How about a new top on the Vector.... with some flame, rolls, clouds, and curly all in one? Brian approves? A sunburst that has seen better days... But, my plans are.... Oh, this is going to be bad ass. One bridge pup Bound and crowned Sustain blocked one knob. Bad ass. I am going to do the same with this vector, only with a Baker neck
benjammin308 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Cool stuff, lots of Hamers, thanks for sharing!
bubs_42 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Nice the color looks to be a match to my old SS1. I was a little worried she got cracked.
bubs_42 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I should have listened to Serial about inquiring on that Baker Neck.
BrianM Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hi Jay, Correctamundo. Mikey approves (cereal commercial reference)! I was of course a bit apprehensive when you first mentioned it, but it looks so much better with this top. I'm looking forward to the progress pics/updates. Thanks for the update, and looks like you have plenty to keep busy.
serial Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Bubs-that Baker neck was a killer fit for the mahogany Phantom II/Proto body w/wraptail and a 3 coil!Jay-as always, I'll be watching this one intently!
bubs_42 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Bubs-that Baker neck was a killer fit for the mahogany Phantom II/Proto body w/wraptail and a 3 coil!Jay-as always, I'll be watching this one intently!Wonder if I can buy a Hamer Neck? I have a killer idea!
cmatthes Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Not from Hamer. I just PIF'd an '80s Phantom body (no neck). We may see something come out of that one. There are definitely skills on this board!
carfish7 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Drop a neck hummer in that SS and I will not be able to resist it!As long as the color stays the same that is..........
Hamerica Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 EEEEWWOOWW, nasty break on what looks like a Hamer four digit Standard. Love the top on that Vee, I wasn't expecting that. Now for the color choice? Someone has some decisions to make. Keep up the good work. Hamerica
kizanski Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 ... a '97 one piece mahogany Standard.Soon to be unlike that which you have ever seen.
mrjamiam Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Looking great! I wondered what would become of that Vector I saw hanging in your shop. It's going to be a beauty!
BrianM Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 damn, that top looks so nice as-is. I'm torn between leaving natural with a hint of amber or going with my original plan of trans red/cherry. Either will look great I'm sure, so I'm decided on my original option of the cherry trans. Fantastic update, thanks Jay.
