Bobby Marshall
But aren't there enough poorly modified guitars in the world that one never needs to do an ill advised mod again? They should have a forum and you could name it . . . PMG forum or GFUBAR forum or ISHFKB forum or TVMMDI forum. This thread needs to be moved so I can express myself more thoroughly. motorpriest
This thread needs to be moved so I can express myself more thoroughly. Actually, having a thread dedicated to honor all those Hamer guitars in their former glory but have since been hacked up, might be a good idea
Steve Haynie
How many times have we told others here, "Hey, it's your guitar-- do what you want." with a warning that "You will never get your money back out of it if you sell it."?
crunchee
Well, that really puts just adding a Floyd into perspective. That poor guitar. +1. Needs a Kahler.
Disturber
Just curious. Let's say you got a guitar like this for free. I guess a luthier could put a new fretboard on? But it would cost an arm and a leg, right?
hamerhead
A do-over would cost about what good used Special would.
LostArt
When you modifiy a guitar you run the risk that you narrow the scope of people you can sell the guitar to when it is finished.I have modified several of my guitars and they would be considered beyond repair. It is ok because it serves my purpose. I don't know if it will serve the purpose of many others. As a result, those guitars will stay with me. To boast it as an upgrade is rather bold.
