Do a forum search-I posted all of that info years ago, but don't recall anymore and my eyes aren't up to the task of reviewing my copies of the logs anymore!!

Thanks Ken.....................I must have missed that one.....................I know we have been over the data before................. total number of Sunbursts made, when Holmes went out of the loop, I know there have been some revisions............. then I suppose you have to factor in the neck issues with the bound and crowned guitars and then how many still survive in the general sense given these are a 30 year old guitar.Steve your eyes are just fine................you still managed to write a great book! :)

Very approximately: 900ish in 79.

From about 9 0600 to 9 1500.

I reckon there are 1500 Holmes Sunbursts, with a few more 1980 ones made up with Holmes bodies and Arlington Heights-made necks (I think Serial said this somewhere).

Crowns represent about a third up to 1980.

Here are the Black Sunburst stats Serial provided from this post

1978 10 bound and crowned 17 dots

1979 43 bound and crowned 81 dots

A guitar with 81 dots?! Must be the Virtuoso Double Neck.

If there is such a thing HamStd probably owns it.

Cheers!

What? Got to be more than that. I think Andrew sounds about right.

CJ, Yes ! These are the last 2 guitars that I will own and these are the last 2 guitars I wanted...................OK I WAS looking for a 1978 Black B&C'd Sunburst and I would have gotten one IF things had worked out a little different but........... no regrets at all, NONE................for the huge price difference between this "NEW" Black 79 Sunburst I just got and the price of the 78 it would have been crazy to have passed it up,this guitar is everything I want and more. When you find a guitar you really want and you have to buy it without seeing it in person or being able to play it and know how it feels and sounds................. certainly at this price point its always a dice roll............the good thing with a Hamer is that they are consistently great guitars and if the instrument has not been screwed around with you know your getting a amazing guitar. These 2 ARE different guitars [see my review of both instruments for more on that] but they share many of the same great build qualities. I play them both daily...........they are superb and I'm blessed to own them. You will get yours of that I'm sure..............it may take awhile but one will come your way. :) BTW I tried to PM you about some guitars but it said you could not receive any messages..................why?

BLACK IS BACK! :) Thanks Peter![On my latest  ] OK........... you know I have to see more of this one it being Black. Low number and it has some patina to it[What very little I'm able to see by looking at the headstock PIC] so I'm guessing this was played some.................the great ones always seem to have been. Can't wait to see more.................don't keep us waiting too long! ;) BTW 8 0194 that guitar was listed on the old Hamer serial number list as being owned by someone in the UK.........1978 Black Hamer Sunburst "DOT" neck..............its also listed as the next Black Sunburst after the first Black Sunburst.......... 8 0160 made by Hamer ................for Martin Barre of Jethro Tull. :o Only 17 Black "Dot" necked Sunbursts made in 78 and with that serail number..............WOW! :o
