stonge Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 This one will get played; I already have an artist ultimate that is a "white gloves only" guitar (sounds great, don't want to beat it up). Certainly won't throw it down the stairs like my parts teles, but it represents the guitar I always wanted so it will get played. Just have to figure out how to work it into a country band (I could always get away with it in the Irish band just because of the color).
cmatthes Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Just have to figure out how to work it into a country band (I could always get away with it in the Irish band just because of the color). Hmmm...well, Ireland IS a country. Does that count as "Country"?
LucSulla Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 For the time being, if you see me playing one, I probably did steal it.
Sugartune Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 This one will get played... Just have to figure out how to work it into a country band (I could always get away with it in the Irish band just because of the color). You can work it into a country band by playing it with your country band.

stonge Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 So it's brah-country then?oh f-ck no. this is a no-bro country band. We cover Dale Watson's "Country My Ass" and mean it. We hate modern country for the most part; if it's on CMT we don't play it. We aim more for Austin than Nashville...
Hamer Dave Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I'll baby and give it's due respect, yet play it as much as possible. So, there should be something in between. I'd select that.
tommy p Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 That dilemma is a big reason why I don't buy new guitars. I would hate to be the one that dings a new one up, but if I buy it that way I don't feel bad about putting new wear and tear on it.
Disturber Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Somebody needs to invent a protective plastic covering for the pointy bits. Kind of like a pocket protector for guitar nerds. The concept has been... explored (pun accepted)... Not sure what deal bluesman Lonnie Brooks had with them, but I saw him regularly in the late 80's and he always had one on! Even has one on this live album cover! He had the only Les Paul version I ever saw. Their new tagline: "Now you can play your guitar like having sex with a condom on."
zorrow Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I might do with my Shishkov like I do with my Mayday-V. I often use it as my backup and always play one or two songs with it... unless I'm going to play at an "unsafe" place --in that case the Hoyer family takes the whole load.
