Feynman Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Many thanks to LoTJ for letting me rent this one.As I understand it (subject to error):- USACG Neck (this is a nice neck): 9.5" Radius Large (stainless steel?) frets Roller nut Locking tuners Big headstock - MIM Fender Body- WB Gregwinds on a superswitch (interesting coil splits and such) - pricey, excellent pickups- Full floating trem- Wide ranging tone controlGuitar was lovingly built then beat by Lord Murkat.Includes period-correct tackyass case, complete with relic'ed cigarette aroma.I'm sure there are some unseen clever things going on here that I am not aware of.I have added the missing string, as I seem to prefer having all six on the guitar.<SOLD!>, and it needs to stay in the HFC. Possible trade for parlor guitar. Thanks for looking, and please let me know if you have any questions. This guitar is much cooler than I am, and it doesn't match the current phase of my identity crisis.--
LordsoftheJungle Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 This thing is more fun to play with than a room full of Double Ds,,,
analogsystem Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 FYI the I had the body and neck originally for my own superstrat build. This was before Mr. Murkat worked his magic on them. I spent a while on ebay trying to find a MIM body in white that was decently lightweight. The neck, also from the bay, is really really nice. Those USACG necks kill and the profile is meaty. Condidering all the work and the high end neck and pickups, that is a pretty damn good deal. Rock on to all involved and whoever ends up with this beauty! Please play some iron maiden on it!
Feynman Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Ah. thanks. Do you know if I'm right about the stainless frets? They appear to be to me, but I have wacky vision.
murkat Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 It totally rocks. There is some cool custom mods to it not listed.Mann made tempered steel bridge posts, like the old PRS's.callaham steel block for the trem.couple of other hidden jems in that as well.It is a steal under eight bones fwiw.BCR pups! really!
analogsystem Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 My memory is failing but I'm 99% sure that the frets are stainless steel.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Awesome looking guitar - It sounds like one hell of a deal for someone. Sadly, I'm fully Stratted up right now.I'm actually digging that leopard skin "tackyass" case. Who makes it?GLWTS.
Steve Haynie Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Man, oh man! That missing string is true relic genius! Not only does the guitar look like that magical "found in a pawn shop" gem, it makes you practice string skipping technique. murkat is the man!
Feynman Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 I'm actually digging that leopard skin "tackyass" case. Who makes it? I have no idea. My best guess is Marlboro, or possible the K is for Kamel. It's an inexpensive feeling thing. My guess is that it's just a bunch of padding over a firm styrofoam mold or similar. It's very light and seems quite protective. I think it's a very nice aesthetic match to the guitar.
Feynman Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 I have now purchased two guitars in two days, so I really must move this along...no reasonable offer refused. Unreasonable offers entertained depending on how much I like you.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Unreasonable offers entertained depending on how much I like you.Great. By that logic it would cost me $3542. Plus shipping.
BadgerDave Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 The case is a discontinued model from Kaces. I have a couple and like then very much. Hard to find, but I'll do an ebay search occasionally. About $75 new IIRC.
