Congrats on the Studio!

Your link doesn't work. It says the item has been removed or is no longer available.

Yes, covered pickups on a Hamer USA Studio sound a little strange. After-market swap, maybe?

Any pics of the guitar?

I think it depends on the guitar. My 95 Studio came with uncovered SD '59/JB combo but my 94 Studio has covered Seth Lovers.

Both I believe are original in every way.

Can't wait to see a picture keko.

That does not look to be the stock pickup selector switch, so it's possible that the pickups were swapped out as well. Though it could be a custom order.

I agree, they don't look like stock pickups. You should be able to check in the control cavity to make sure though. And if they sound great, don't worry about it!

It looks perfect to me. The ad had been correct too. Nothing to complain about.

Most here swap the original pickups as soon as they received the guitar. One might argue why Hamer sold guitars with pickups. It's all a matter of taste. Try and decide yourself.

No worries here.

My '95 Archtop Custom came with covered pickups.

So, in 1995 it was called the Archtop Custom, and not the Studio Custom?

Correct.

It's a 2001, my 2000 came with uncovered Duncan 59's which I like a lot. Maybe someond put covers on it or it was a special request? The Duncans are plainly marked have a look underneath. I actually tried a set of Marshallheads but couldn't justify the cost, the 59's sound great to me, sold the Marshallheads. The covers dress up the guitar quite a bit.

I'm like a broken record but man Hamer used nice wood. That one is beautiful, my top is incredible, the Special a few threads from this one is incredible, T Bone just bought a blue Studio also beautiful.

Oh and a big congrats to the OP..that is a really nice Studio.
