Stupid and Unimportant Bass Question

Bought some GHS Big Core bass strings for my Cruise. They're fantastic, but.

Purely aesthetics, but the wraps on the end of the strings are somewhere between neon blue and bright teal - the Cruise is Ferrari red. Strings look great without the bass / bass looks great without the strings.

Can I remove the wrap? By slicing along the string with a razor?

No unimportant questions are stupid, it's just that some answers are....case in point, right here.

A drop of red paint or fingernail polish(?)

I would guess there's not a reason you can't do that. But something may go wrong when you do that but I wouldn't think so. I have to say I've never done it

Get fancy and cover the threads with heat shrink tubing. Pick the color you want!

Removing the wrap will not affect the string at all, it just exposes the ugly bits (wind terminations) underneath.

BTW, all bass related questions are important.

Some may be stupid (yours isn't) but they're important nonetheless.

I used to have to pull the silks off of D'Addario Chromes near the ball end to fit into my bridge. It's always kind of a mess. But give it a shot!
