crunchee
I'll hafta take a bathroom break sometime, plus replenish the snacks and drinks, and I wouldn't want to miss any funny new Super Bowl commercials, so doing all that during the halftime show is as good a time as any. Ting Ho Dung
My favorite new expression, "If you take a pile of shit and shit on it you have....." Coldplay and the halftime show. Isn't this SB 50? That's a whopping DD.
santellavision
Coldplay? That has to be an Onion story, right?
Steve Haynie
The Super Bowl halftime show has nothing to do with sports. It is all about demographics and selling commercials. The people booking acts for the halftime show are thinking about business while we are thinking about music. Complaining about which musical entertainer plays at a football game is no better than complaining about who gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame every year. Nickleback none. Cheap Trick none. (Then I hear, Grammys don't matter. The RRHOF doesn't matter anymore) If Coldplay can continue to see the same level of success for another 5 years it'd be 20+ years and yeah they'll get in the RRHOF ahead of many more "well deserved" artists. I'm no longer the biggest fan, but Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head are great albums. All that aside, Journey can't play every show to keep y'all happy
Steve Haynie
Mac Sabbath would be a perfect choice to play the Super Bowl. Classic music combined with commercialism is what the Super Bowl halftime show is all about.
