diablo175 Posted November 12, 2023 Author Posted November 12, 2023 The Ted Stevenson build is progressing nicely! Ted sent these last night! The maple he had laying around for 25 (possibly more) years. Freakin' gorgeous! One might say that wood is giving me wood.
RobB Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 What’s the deal with the channels in the neck? Are there tenons built into the body for a set-neck?

That said, I have another build being done by a gent in NJ who almost refuses to do spoke wheels because of the impact to the aesthetics of the the heel of the fret board. 🤔🙄
RobB Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 That’s looks like some solid joinery. The machine bolts are a nice feature.

Also, Warmoth has that side adjust one though I've never seen it in person.

Yeah, imagine anything else where they did that and called it "mojo". House, car, motorcycle, computer, cabinets, drywall, etc.

I did an install at a very exclusive establishment in NYC several years ago, and the architect specified acoustical concrete. https://www.arup.com/projects/acoustic-concrete Yeah guess what. Concrete my ass, it was an Awful sounding room.

I wonder where the inspiration for that could have come from? I hope you don't relic that beautiful paint!!! That is about as cool of guitar color I've ever seen. I gave my son a Charvel with a similar color but not anywhere near that deep and sparkly. Love it!!

In some earlier posts, I made it clear that I'm not a fan of relic-ing for several reasons. So, yeah, this is gonna get relic-ed the old fashioned way- through years of use and abuse.
