I don't have HBO.  Dammit!  :(

Ditto.

I didn't either....ordered it special for tonight.

Wish I could have seen Jol's face when Steve Miller came up to jam during the encore, playing that Hamer Miller that Neilsen presented him onstage during CT's induction. After all the other Hamers CT had over the years....and it was the MILLER that got the most recognition. Ah, the irony.

Was great to see Bun back behnd the drums. He looked like he was having a great time.

We have "HBO Now" and I cannot find it on there. Does anyone know if you can get it on HBO Now?

Rick had 5 of his iconic Hamers on stands in front of his amps all night that he didn't play, plus a new guitar that Paul Hamer built for and presented to him at the HOF Induction (Paul and Sis were there too).

Rick opened with his famous vintage 'Burst for "IWYTWM", then the '78 Checkerboard Standarf, for "Deeam Police" (which got cut and didn't make the broadcast), then the Ludwig Clown Puke Sparkle Hamer Standard for "Surrender" and his recent favorite R9 for the finale of "Ain't That A Shame".

the checkerboard 5 neck, Uncle Dick doubleneck, Shannon painted "Sgt. Pepper" graphic single pickup Monaco, the "GRH"Standard and a couple more we're all right there decorating the stage.

i caught the showing on HBO after getting in from a really fun gig, and as beat as I was had to watch the whole thing.  I will say that they must have overdubbed or enhanced some vocal parts, and they definitely did some heavy editing of some of the introductory speeches.  I was kind of bummed that they cut the Terry Kath tribute given by his daughter.

Was I imagining it.....or was Cheap Trick's audio mix for their performances nowhere as good as all the other acts on the show?

Rick's guitar was waaay outfront, so his fills sounded not so good. All his live sloppy parts when he is clowning were REAL loud.

That burried Robin's vocals a bit and the rhythm section. I thought maybe Robin was having an off night, so they tried to hide it with that mix but I don't know. I've never heard him sing bad.

So.....wondering what the deal was? Was CT sounding "on" in person that night, Chris?

Chicago sounded real good and that was a way more complicated mix. Was the bad CT mix a final Jann Wenner payback...or did CT opt for their own soundman to mix and he mixed for the live audience but didn't compensate for TV broadcast somehow?

The only band this year with all original members, or who would all show up and they killed!  So good to see them with Bun E. again.

I really enjoyed the show.  Robin and Tom both shook hands with Bun, but I didn't see Rick even acknowledge him.

Would have loved to see the Terry Kath tribute.  He was so good.  People don't even know.

The real missing puzzle piece was Blackmore.  I love Steve Morse, but he looks more and more like Ted Nugent as he ages...

I LEFT IT THAT WAY FOR TWELVE HOURS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT!

Hours of footage ended up being cut.  All of the intro speeches were shot from multiple camera angles so they could edit out pretty much everything controversial, and (dare I say it?) "alter" the content.  RN hugged Bun E. onstage, but that didn't make the cut.   Kendrick Lamar and Kid Rock actually sounded semi-coherent when edited too - believe me, it wasn't like that live! :D

I was there too and can attest to the fact that the edited version made Rock and Lamar's speeches sound much better than they actually were. Lamar was mostly incoherent, while Rock was just self-serving and all around awful. With so many well-respected musicians who idolize Cheap Trick, it's such a shame that they had to bring in this fool who has no connection to the band and who clearly had a speech which was ghost-written.

All of that being said, the worst speech of the night was, hands down, the Black Keys. When you start off by admitting you had to Wiki the guy you are inducting . . . well, that's not a good sign.

The best speech of the night was probably Lars, and I hate myself for having to admit that. Personally, I thought the daughter of Bert Berns gave the most touching speech about how she and her brother got to know their dad through his music, but of course HBO cut that one entirely.

I read that Cheap Trick's new label album deal and tour were conditioned on Bun E rejoining the band to play live for a new double live album coming out for the 40th Anniversary of "Live at Budakan."

That's why they kissed and made up on TV at the RnR HOF in front of the world.

And their new label mate, Taylor Swift, is writing them a hit single...even bigger than "The Flame."  Prince will open for them on the U.S. leg of the tour.

Really, it's all on the internet. 🙄

I was going to say something about how my copy just says "Cheap Trick At Budokan", but now I feel like it would just be piling on.  Plus, it's probably just a cheap Chinese counterfeit LP.  From back in the 70's.

Now THAT's a funny typo.  First I had "Bun" and decided to add the "E" and damn autocorrect must've made it "Ben E".... I guess Ben E. King trumps Bun E in Apple's autocorrect. Hahaha

Totally agree.  I was disappointed that they cut that out as well as Terry Kath's daughter's speech.

Thise Black Keys guys were fcuking awful too.  They were reading (badly) off of a 15' TelePrompTer at the back of the floor tables and still came off as having no idea who Steve Miller was.  No wonder he got so pissed afterwards! :D

It was like a Cheap Trick & Hamer induction into the RRHoF.

Note to self: always spell check the spell check.

And the auto-correct too.

A Morse is a Morse is a Morse, of course. Unless that Morse is a Morris....
