Biz Prof Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 File this under "WTF?": Opry "Hamer"? ETA: I did search the site and found some ancient threads with few, if any answers on this thing.
stratacus Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 The following is from a listing Kim Keller had on Reverb last year: This is the rarest of the rare. In 2005, the Opry commissioned a series of guitars from Hamer. Hamer built 6-8 of the thin-body electrics in the New Hartford Shop, and designed this guitar as a lower-priced version to be built offshore. Production numbers for the imports are not obtainable, but there aren’t many of these, maybe as few as 3. They were built as proof-of-concept samples by Hamer's Chinese affiliate.
cmatthes Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 It’s legit - it was a limited run import commerative model.

Maybe, but tree-fiddy seems even more appropriate. 😉 3 hours ago, stratacus said: The following is from a listing Kim Keller had on Reverb last year: This is the rarest of the rare. I've certainly have preferred that they use the Hamer logo with the Opry logo on the TRC or separately as a subscript.

I get the impression that it wasn't something that they wanted readily recognized as a Hamer - even as an import.
Disturber Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Wish I bought one of these when I had the chance.

tbonesullivan Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I remember when Willcutt's had one of the USA ones up for a while. IT tempted me... so much.

Ebay in germany had one up for months. I nearly pulled the trigger twice. Then I bought Feynmans MIII instead. I am not regretting that. But I'd love to have both.
Steve Haynie Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 The Grand Ole Opry is streamed live every weekend at wsmonline.com. It used to have more of the old country performers, but there are fewer of them each year. One good thing about the show is that there are several performers each night. If you do not like one, another will be along in a few minutes.
Thundersteel Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 On Reverb at the appropriate $350: Hamer Opry
Marvelicious Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 So... "built by Hamer"... isn't that more like "built by Samick", or whoever handled the Hamer import stuff?
