Awesome!... I was saving my money for a EarthRoamer but this might be cooler to go to the grocery store or to my local pub for chicken wings and brewskis 😆

tbonesullivan Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 I am pretty sure there is going to be a "standard" run outside of the limited run. I did not know however that they were going to sell them as a set. I mean it's essentially the exact same guitar with two different paint jobs. But, these are being made for one thing: the collector's market, along with the amp. They will probably have NO trouble selling these, even at that price. It's something that really has never been available before, and probably won't be again. Now I just wonder, how that he's had the REAL dragon guitar redone, how much would that thing sell for?

The real one would probably go for less. 🤩 There is a 'hand painted' production one for $1400. Has to be MIM for that. https://www.adorama.com/fe0146230721.html? Also a 'mirror era' one, apparently without the mirrors, for $2500. Maybe US? https://www.adorama.com/fe0119210801.html?
Jakeboy Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 The mirror one comes with the mirrors for you to stick on wherever....

crunchee Posted January 28, 2019 Author Posted January 28, 2019 Both guitars look like a DIY project. Has anybody gone to their local auto repair store or bicycle store to price those stick-on mirrors? They're probably in the same area where the EVH plastic reflectors can be found.
kizanski Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 That'll be the day I buy a guitar for 25 grand and then I have some finishing touches to handle myself.
Steve Haynie Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 For the price one should demand everything is installed at the factory. It is like ordering fajitas and having to finish making them yourself at the table. Is Fender going to offer mirrors as a replacement part if you mess up in the application (it could happen) or if you lose one (it could happen)?

The fajitas example is a great one as well. What am I kitchen staff now? Should I wash my own dishes, too? And when (not if) you affix the mirrors in the wrong place, have you devalued the instrument? Rhetorical question - of course you have.
tbonesullivan Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Yeah, I really don't understand recreating the mirror tele. But, Fender smelled the $$$$ and went for it. I would wager that this started with the "restoration" of the original Dragon Telecaster at the custom shop. Then they could easily make the replicas based off of the original. The "stick yourself" mirrors, well maybe you might want it before he stuck them on.? Who knows.

Next they'll offer the EVH Replica Frankenstein before he affixed the stripes. But don't worry. Fender will include the stripes and bicycle reflectors in a ZipLock bag. Put 'em on yourself.
Marvelicious Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 2020 Model American Standard Stratocaster... some assembly required.
LucSulla Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 I just found out a week ago that Olivia D'abo was only 13 when Conan the Destroyer started filming. I'm still processing that.

She performed a full frontal nudity scene in Bolero (filmed April 1983)[5] at the age of 14, standing in a tub while bathed by Bo Derek." Just remember, nothing comes between Brooke Shields and her Calvins.
Marvelicious Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Ah, the good old days in the film industry... Its so tough to get child nudity in your movies these days. Say what you will about rock stars, they have nothing on film directors when it comes to being creeps!

Two minutes later a bunch of creeps Googled for this video clip.
Marvelicious Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Hah, at least have the decency to pull it up on Netflix and watch the whole movie... I'm pretty sure I've never seen it and don't remember a thing about it. For all I know, child nudity is one of the least objectionable things about it, somewhere behind acting, directing and storyline.

tbonesullivan Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 I still remember watching the 1968 Zeffirelli Romeo and Juliet movie in high school. I think Juliet actress was 16 or 17 at the time. Also, next time you watch "American Beauty", after you're done puking from seeing Kevin Spacey's face, Just remember that Thora Birch was underage as well. But, considering her manager is her father, Porn Star Jack Birch, that wouldn't be surprising. HOLLYWEIRD.
