BobHamer Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I am looking for a pair of original Hamer humbuckers. Let me know what you have. Thank you, Bob
kizanski Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I'm going to have to ask you to edit that thread title. Come on, man....
BobHamer Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 now i cannot figure out how to edit.
BobHamer Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 Done, Thanks. But what I really need are some pickups!!
kizanski Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Hey man, first thing's first. Good luck with your search.
hamerhead Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 That's a lotta humbuckers.....50-60 maybe, but 77-82 is a lot. Pretty specific, too.
cynic Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 For the majority of your specified time period there were no Hamer branded pickups, only Dimarzio PAFs. Late in ‘82 they started using the Hamer branded, Dimarzio wound “slammer” pickups.
BobHamer Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 funny how you all know what I really meant, but smart asses prevail , i changed the topic, lets see how you pick it apart this time. I still want the pickups not advice or comedians.

Jakeboy Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 @BobHamer it’s all meant in fun. This is the best forum on the net and we bust on each on a regular basis. I am sure someone will be along with a line on a couple of those Dimarzios. They are raspy in the bridge, but in a good way. Lots of snarl.
BobHamer Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 I agree it is a great forum, its good clean fun! We have a few specials and My son bought a project 78' Les Paul and he loves the sound of his 81' green special, so he wants the LP to sound like it. Should be great when its done.
hamerhead Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Well, at 77' - 82', that's one loooong pickup. You may have to do some routing.
The Shark Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 I have a set. I'll take pics and post them tonight. Bubs included them in the case with my four digit. I'll measure the impedance too. I do not know how to identify them or date them...but I will sell them.

BobHamer Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 Sounds good, the guitar has already been defiled, so a little routing will be an improvement. Shark send me a message as to price and pictures if possible. I really don't mind the banter, it reminds me of my high school/college buddies.

cynic Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 If all else fails the Dimarzio 36th annys aren’t far off.

The Shark Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Here they are. The experts can date them. The zebra is 8.78K and the double crème is 8.49K. Zebra has three wires and the Double Crème is two conductor. Not sure what the Zebra has going on. $80 each.
BobHamer Posted September 10, 2019 Author Posted September 10, 2019 Great , I will take them, Thank you, Bob
kizanski Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 So New Guy got the last set of Hamer/DiMarzio pickups under $300... What's next, Dave? $100 Sustain Blocks and $350 Specials?
