Since I get the guitarists mixed up in JP: Green Manalishi, fairly new, Tell me who these brutes are.

I'm assuming the one in the red slickers is Glenn Tipton. Who is the new guy with the white LP? Also, are those gold covered EMGs in his LP? And, Am I hearing chorus effect in the guitar Fx chain or is it just delay? I'm never good at the subtle effects. And, in the video description, (you'll have to go to YouTube I suppose) it says Green Manalishi..... By Judas Priest. I thought it was by Jefferson Airplane or Starship or whatever they morphed into.

Good video nonetheless and great guitar work.

I don't know. This no drinking thing has me all fucked up. Regardless, it should say by Peter Green, you yutz then instead of JP.

What about the rest? I thought you were a JP fan.

That just does not sound right. Dave Holland is THE Priest drummer. Does not sound right without him. RIP. This version is closer to the Unleashed in the East version.

My favorite version of JP's "Green Manalishi" cover is the live one on the video of Priest...Live!  Wasn't on the CD or LP. Managed to get a dub of it from the earlier Memphis concert, however, so it could also be dubbed from other VHS or DVD sources

I think I picked that up as a rental back in the mid '80s.

Man, that ending was huge. The thing that sparked my memory in this video is how Glenn Tipton always had that sweet, welcoming smile. Kind of like you were in his living room and he was showing you some new lick he had just learned. Really cool, thanks.

:lol::lol: That much I do remember though I didn't know it until I had worn out, "Unleashed in the East," at least twice. Those bands / Folk Singers just didn't interest me as a kid. Once I discovered screaming in the 4th grade I was done with Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Puff the Magick Dragon songs they made us sing in school.

Yeah, like bending a string was pulling on his hemorrhoid. I remember seeing him with Glenn and The Ripper close up at Janus Landing and laughed at him. It was so out of place in 2007 or so plus the fact that he looked 80 years old. By the way, I caught The Ripper's towel at the end of the concert, took it home, and my dog shredded it.

Was your pup's name 'Shredder'? 😂

I’m impressed. Rob halford sounds good and sounds like he has all his marbles.      You look at Vince Neil and Jack Russell  (jack Russell’s great white not to be confused with the other great white) and those guys are fried.

I tell you what, I am simply amazing. I was right on both accounts. EMG 81 and 85 in the white LP and a chorus that is always on.

Dang, dude! Harsh. To be fair, that’s like comparing the guys in Buckcherry to Frank Marino…

Thread detour; I missed out on Frank as a kid, except for Strange Dreams which got some airplay in Tx.

Found this a year or two ago, holy shit!

This is the one that did it for me in HS. I wore this album out at least twice. The breakdown (?) that begins at 1:43 was just nutz to me back then. It drove a parrot I had crazy too. I taught it to say, "Rock n Roll." It twisted its head around in circles. I was fortunate to see him during, "The Monsters of Rock Tour," or, "Rock n Roll Marathon," can't really remember, in 1970 something was great. IIRC he had a LP he bastardized with a Floyd. I never saw so many passed out people at a concert in my life. Puke everywhere! Slippin' and slidin' through the Lakeland Civic Center to go to the bathroom. Ah.... The Seventies! @The Shark was there I'm sure. Maybe he can fill in the blanks I have forgotten. I think maybe Thin Lizzy was performing too, or Mother's Finest. Can't really recall.

As for the FM that "did it for me", I'd have to go with this one:

Here's a great resource for the Lakeland Civic Center.  I think the 1980 show with Angel, Mother's Finest and Humble Pie was the one I can "remember"!

Yep, I made a banner for Punky Meadows Lip Farm. I remember Humble Pie. But I think I walked around looking at all the passed out people and puke during Mother's Finest. I'm pretty sure I saw Thin Lizzy at one point. I'll check out your link. Thanks.

ETA: Must've been Queen and Thin Lizzy, 2-20-77

Then you saw Lizzy with Gary Moore.  My buddy Steve came home raving about this dude with scars all over his face playing a Les Paul Junior.  I was on "restriction" and couldn't go!
