Biz Prof
Gonna go out on a limb and call that a refin. Serial number would have been ink stamped on the headstock. That's all I got.
cynic
Early short-scale Chap Custom with a crazy ugly refin.

Xavier180
Supposedly this guitar would have been made for Vernon Reid and the neck carved thinner than the regular profile afterwards upon Vernon’s request. Indeed strange that there is no serial # Would be nice if an former Hamer luthier could confirm

joshoowah
It would look at home in Mr. Reid's collection, but the two I saw when I met him 15 years ago had serial numbers and form-fit flight cases.

cmatthes
That guitar has absolutely ZERO to do with Vernon Reid, except for an unscrupulous seller making a BS claim. It's a mid-80s (early style) Chapparal, as mentioned above with an aftermarket, kind of amateurish, paint job. Cool guitar, but definitely not a Vernon guitar. gatorbyte007
I can tell in 5 Seconds if a neck was carved for VR. Very distinctive V shape.
HAMERMAN
I think most or all of Vernon's "Chapifornians" also had scalloped cutaways.
