WTB: 80's Hamer Special

I'm looking for an early era Special with the sustain block bridge guy. Doesn't have to be a museum piece or be all original. My preference is not for a super heavy one. Anyone got one? I see I missed a few killer deals here if I had been looking a month or so ago. The one's on Reverb are kinda crazy priced.

Thank you. I would be very interested. That is one of the ones I missed out on by not paying attention.  I hope your wife feels better. I got my booster a week ago and it took me out for a day and a half.

Wow. Normally I say the finish color doesn't matter but that is a bold design. If it was original then the bold design might work for that seller but since its a refinish I think his price is a bit on the higher side. Refinishes always affect the value but refinishing in something as interesting as that will likely have a higher affect on the value.

+1. Glad you got it. I almost couldn't resist too. But managed to overcome the urge and post it instead. I need left hand that works, not another Hamer to gaze at fondly.

Where are you, Johnny? (I’m in the UK),

I’m considering, maybe, movIng my 1980 Special on. Players grade, real reliced 😂 (it was gigged all over Europe by the previous owner) but no neck issues and all original hardware. I’m a bit torn as it’s sounds amazing, but I can’t get on with the thin neck. If I fancy a noodle, it’s my Newport / Vanguard or my SS2 that I go to. 
 

I’m still unsure as this era of specials was the first guitar I ever saw (my neighbour had the same colour 81 checkerboard Special when I was a child) so my aim was always to get one.
