jer_vic Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 I guess one good turn deserves another, eh @Ua D? The seller (and original owner) had planned to go boating in Port Townsend, WA last weekend and kindly agreed to meet me at the Port Angeles ferry terminal. The guitar looks great, almost no wear. Neck pickup appears to be upside down, something I assume happened when the coil split was added. The original pot was included, along with hang tag, warranty card and truss rod adjustment tool. Selector switch was a bit sticky, and action was a little bit high. The only problem is, it's the warranty card for a different guitar: My theory is that the store (Guitar Czar, Salt Lake City) mixed up the cases when the guitar was initially sold in 1995. So, if anyone has 438506, show me a picture of the back of the headstock, and I'll mail this out to you. Additionally, if anyone has the warranty card from my guitar - 439900 - it would be cool if you could do likewise. Also, what colour is it? It doesn't look bursty, so not '59 Burst? Clearly not Blue Burst or Blue Transparent, or Transparent Emerald. That leaves Aztec Gold, Cherry Transparent, Natural, Salmon Blush and Vintage Orange.... Too dark for Aztec Gold?
Jakeboy Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Looks like Aztec Gold that is aging quite beautifully!

Ua D Posted February 21, 2023 Author Posted February 21, 2023 Sweet! Nice score. Whats the difference between honey and aztec gold. This looks like the same color as the Artist i just got but in the old catalogs they call it honey for the artists and aztec gold on the studios. Is it actually more yellowless amber than honey or is it the same?

So what your saying is I need to buy an Aztec gold Hamer to see for myself. 😆
BoogieMKIIA Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Depends on the lighting. I have a Studio Custom in Vintage Natural, can look like Aztec Gold in some photos. Agree, you should buy a known Aztec Gold and compare.

ARM OF HAMER Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 Those wood buyers for Hamer sure knew what they were doing.
