Stike Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 I know Kahler's were a popular mod in the 80s but I don't recall seeing many/any guitars made after 2000 that got the mod.

There’s one in every crowd… Probably an ‘80s tribute band guy that installed that after dripping $5k at Wilcutt’s for it?

I was just thinking that Kahler specs on COs in the 21st century must have been exceptionally rare during the New Hartford era. I'm sure Glenn Tipton would have that on his order sheet up through his last CO, but there cannot have been many other Kahler aficionados during the later years of Hamer USA.
cynic Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 Those suggesting the price for the Standard is too high clearly didn't notice that's a Gibson branded trem.
hamerican gigolo Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 That trem on that beautiful guitar... 🤮

That guitar didn’t leave New Hartford with that trem. That was a Willcutt’s custom order…somebody fucked it up after the fact.

jer_vic Posted February 8, 2023 Author Posted February 8, 2023 Newport Pro has sold. That looked like a beautiful guitar.
The Shark Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Somebody tell the guy that a Kahler makes the guitar (that would otherwise be expensive) affordable....not the other way around. Disclaimer: I have a Phil Kubicki custom guitar with a Kahler. He retro-fitted the Kahler with modified springs from a bass Kahler. Stiff and stays in tune.
BubbaVO Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 That Newport maple top is gone. Quite the looker. Hope someone here grabbed it.
