Haven’t seen live music in a while. Trying to keep an open mind but Tedeschi Trucks may not be my thing.

I would love to see the Teduski Trucks band. It's a large band and from the videos I've seen the create a really great sound. Some really incredible talent in that band!!!

Some bands are better live than what you see on YouTube.  If you like any of the bands you mention, go have a good time and consider the others a bonus.

You can also wait until a better (to you) show comes around.

Marshall Crenshaw for some shows, Robin Wilson of the Gin Blossoms for others.  Mike Mesaros is back on bass, and has been for a while now.  That in itself is worth the price of admission IMO.

Smithereens were one of those bands that should have been even bigger than they were. Almost a perfect mash up of Beatles melodic hooks with a modern, harder edge and sometimes, a darker sonic hue.

^^^^This. Really liked their hard pop approach with sensible chord progressions and a focused-on-Rickenbacker sound, especially Mike Mesaros who actually had his own Rick model bass (Blackstar).

"Only A Memory" was exemplary, not just of the band's sound but what a well-crafted crunchy pop song should sound like....plus, the chord sequence in the verses was the same as "Just Like Me" by Paul Revere & the Raiders...!

Apparently the collaboration with Crenshaw is mutually beneficial, on accounta it's been going on for several years (started before the lockdown).

I’m seeing TTB again tonight at The Warner with a friend who has seen them over 95 times in the last 7-8 years.  He’ll seriously fly all over the Country to see them.  They’re at Red Rocks for a few nights?  He’s front row for all 3.  Irving Plaza for 4 shows?  He’s there, front & center.  He’s already seen them a dozen times this year.  They’re a great live act, and as much as I dig her voice and his playing, I don’t own a single recording by them.  I’ve seen them 6-7 times as well.  Definitely a cool experience.

I’m seeing the Smithereens on St. Patrick’s Day here in the DC area.  I’ve caught them well over a dozen times since the mid-80s, but only once with Marshall fronting.  Fantastic live act, and the songs are just so damned great.   I actually got a nice surprise in the mail a few weeks ago - a Smithereens drumhead signed by Dennis and Jim.  A very talented artist friend had Jim sent that to me, which was very cool.

You won’t go wrong seeing either - or BOTH bands.

Haha.  I just got a new baritone Tele and while playing on the couch the past couple of evenings, Just Like Me is one of the songs that popped out.  I'll have to revisit my Smithereens albums again and perhaps mash up Only A Memory with it.

Nice!!  92 or 93?

92. I am supposed to be downsizing but this popped up on Craigslist. Have not had a chance to do anything besides make sure things are in working order.

T Trucks are fantastic live. Probably one of my favorite acts to see the last 10 years. It's like seeing the Allman's with a touch of Mad Dogs & Englishmen, fronted by Bonnie Raitt. :) Great horn section, vocalists (Most nights with full entourage) and really excellent music with occasional great, classic cover. Highly recommended.

I know I have mentioned it before, but I found their live concert covering the entire Layla album to be incredible. I would not hesitate to see them live if I get the chance, regardless of what set list they performed.
