Dave Scepter Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 It's technically a 6 digit serial number.. which describes it as a 1990

hamerhead Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 Don't be dicks, you guys. He's learning. The first digit - the zero - means 1990. The rest is where it came off the line. Those other zeroes were just messing with you. It's in The Book: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-ultimate-steve-matthes/1115527775?ean=9780764343520 Everything you need to know about Hamer guitars is right there. Well, almost everything. We're still waiting for Volume II......

That was my My New Yawk humor and sarcasm regarding the 1990 of course. I just thought the OP was being humorous. On a useless side note, My 1987 Shelby GLHS is a 4-digit s/n 0325, whereas, a 1986 Shelby GLHS s/n would be #325 and a 3-digit. But I digress.

cmatthes Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 There were differing stories depending upon the people interviewed that were there. The point of the book was to be historically accurate, faithfully discuss the models and put correct information out there. It was never going to be a “he said-he said-they said” kind of deal. I’ll leave it at there are several differences of opinion. There was also a considerable amount of completed, well-researched and written material that the publisher cut. Oh. And don’t even THINK of starting this “5-digit” bullshit!

I am personally very curious what happened and I would imagine many others are as well
cmatthes Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 Not going to be shared here. Steve may put that in Volume 2 if he completes that, but until then, that's it.
topekatj Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 From where I sit the only 4 digits that matter are the price and I don’t like what I see

But I can at least admire from afar.
Hamer95USA Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 I'm not on Facebook. How much is it going for? Any more details about the guitar? More pictures? Looks great from the few pictures of it.
