I am running direct to FOH on Sundays using this incredibly efficient setup mounted on a none-more-black piece of plywood: The flanger sounds close enough to the Electric Mistress I sold for a pittance back in the 90's, but it doesn't get a great deal of use considering the typical setlist. Recently I came across the TC Electronics Plethora X1. Seven Tone-Print capable slots, it's a virtual Turing Machine for guitar: Hall of Fame 2 Reverb Flashback 2 Delay and Looper Helix Phaser Viscous Vibe Sub 'N' Up Octaver Brainwaves Pitch Shifter Corona Chorus Mimiq Doubler Vortex Flanger Pipeline Tap Tempo Tremolo Quintessence Harmonizer Sentry Noise Gate Shaker Vibrato I have confessed being a TC fanboy on these very pages and I've been Toneprinting since the Flashback V1 came out way back when. Looks like they're just north of $150 new and would add a ton of capability to my humble board. Anyone using / tried out one? The closest competitor seems to be the Helix HX One which likely sounds better but is twice the size (i.e., too large for the board) and twice the cost.

Im sure Gibson did a ES-330 with humbuckers while they were being made the now closed Memphis plant. I have seen a few pop on the used market.

When you know you have outlived things.....WAY back when, I got an original ES-330 for $100 (cherry red with chrome covered pickups). IIRC, I late on sold it for $185 to some hippie that wanted to strip it and paint dragons on it.....Gone the way of tree fitty. Prices are relative so many years later, but $3500 and wondering about the usual Gibson questions(?) After a dozen or two Gibson semis of almost all varieties, I ended down to the "best," a later reissue 335 (blonde) upgraded with Lollar Imperials. I ended up with a handful of "boutique" versions that did it better.....For about half again as much more (yeah, USED), I ended up keeping a Huber Rietbergen....Just made me lose my desire to hang on to that last Gibson. Yeah, I know, a $5k Rietbergen is not likely to be found these days......😉 My 2 cents, FWIW, after inflation......

At rehearsal last night, there was recollection of some old dealings with BCR Music (longer story) that lead me into the rabbit hole of German "Les Pauls". Gave me an excuse to pull them out for a family shot...... Hard to pick a favorite. Each has its own personality.

The zero watt feature is NOT the same thing as a power amp output. It emulates the phase inverter to give the "feel" of a power amp, WITHOUT an actual power output. Hence, "zero watt". So it is NOT a power amp into a power amp......It will not harm the combo amp. I would set the combo to a comfortable volume, then start as you suggested at low settings until you get to a good balance with the tone and volume of the DR. At that point, the DR can basically serve as your master for volume control. Again, effectively giving you three presets. The TKIP is extremely versatile and can be further tweaked with their online tools. For myself, I would use the other drive pedal in front of the TKIP, allowing for a boost of however much you desire to any of the three presets. If you want to get real fancy (AND spend some fairly serious cash) the Chase Bliss Brother AM works great (IMO) in front of the TKIP....Even more options on the fly.

Fun fact at the end: I've known about the existence of this exact guitar since 1981!!! Back then there was a review in a german magazine for musicians (Fachblatt). I have adored this Hamer ever since but I was never able to find out anything more specific about it. And now,45 years later ...

Although they look very similar, there are some significant differences: The regular Vector: - one (!) piece mahogany body - one piece maple overlay - three piece mahogany "stressed" neck, medium rounded C-shape - regular neck joint - no binding - regular triangular metal back plate The 4-digit: - two piece mahogany body - two piece maple overlay - one piece mahogany neck with two additional narrow stripes of wood at the headstock, rather flat sharp D-shape! - smooth neck heal - neck set deeper into the body - 5-ply body binding, 3-ply binding at the neck and headstock - differently shaped plastic back plate

Man, I would not eat any of that crap. Maybe the chicken wings once in a while. But they have gotten very expensive too. Even to cook at home.

I cook at home for very little. Maybe $10 for two. But, sometimes we like to go out. Sushi for two / lunch, $68. Steak for two / lunch, at Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn, close to $80. Never thought I'd see the day when sushi is less money than steak. But, the nice thing is we usually have leftovers for dinner, the portions are fairly large. I get 16oz ribeye, loaded baked potato, caesar salad, drink. I also tip about 20% so the price of lunch including tip is between $70 and $80. Dinner is usually more expensive for some reason. And I don't like to go out at night anymore. I haven't been to a fast food joint in probably 20 years and they are fairly cheap. But those places are nasty. I stay away as much as possible from processed foods. ETA: I got the pedal coming from my guy at Sweetwater, Thanks!!!
