  1. Past hour
  2. Of all her songs, 'Jolene' is the one that makes me want to stab pencils in my ears the most.
  3. Quick update..... I received the Cruise on Tuesday. I will be spending some time with it next week. I had noticed cracks in the finish from the photographs posted but decided it still needed a good home. My eyes didn't deceive me the body has cracks in the finish around the strap button. Appears to be cosmetic only so I am not to concerned about it. Still a beautiful bass and glad it's been added to my instruments. More updates to come and thanks again.
  4. Yeah... I purchased a spare for every hamer I have that has the dang barrel jack, just in case they ever discontinue them. Not likely considering how many other companies use them for jacks on the side of a rounded body.
  5. Yeah... only the original. Titebond II and III are intended for wood that may be outdoors, and remain rubbery, unlike the original Titebond.
  6. Today
  7. You get a free bowl of soup with that hat? ๐Ÿคฃ
  8. I've got lots of her music and have been doing a deep dive. This is one my favorite covers of hers:
  9. VH-1 or Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz
  10. Soooo many options here. Boston was a good one. I'll likely vote multiple times here...
  11. Who had the best debut album? I have to go with Boston - great musicianship, not a note out of place, strong songs throughout (well, 'Let Me Take You Home Tonight' wasn't as good as the rest IMHO, but not unlistenable. Everything else on there could have been released as singles). Even they were never able to match it. And that it was all done without computer assistance makes it that much more impressive.
  12. You donโ€™t have enough jrโ€™s already? ๐Ÿ˜‰
  13. Do not use Titebond II or III, or TB's horrid brown bottle "hide glue" incarnation, to work on guitars. Use original red label red cap Titebond I. Ask Google the question "which Titebond for luthiery?" and it will share more legit insight than I spout off the top of my very forgetful head.
  14. All around '93-'94, NIN broke out, I Mother Earth broke out with, "Not Quite Sonic," and many more from, Dig. Seems like, Counting Crows came out with, "Mr. Jones." Marilyn Manson was on the verge, I think it may have been '96 with, "Beautiful People." Tool, "Sober." And, Stabbing Westward with, "Ungod." Some others were, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, others in the late '80s early '90s. Was a great time.
  15. ... sprinkle in a bit of Nine Inch Nails...
  16. A slightly more rockin creed? I donโ€™t see it. And I say this with all due respect.
  17. Listening to this music today, it feels like a 100 years ago. Remember when bands like this were everywhere? An abundance of great bands simering just under the thin line of breaking through big time. So many you did not have time to listen to them all. And now, today, you search your ass of just to find one new band with just an inch of being the real thing - and just not a bunch of influencers posing as musicians. Damn, I hate what the "music biz" has become, (which is: there is no music biz anymore, it's just one thousand people uploading shit to Spotify, Tidal etc. every day without any kind of gate keeping or talent search).
  18. The 80s are back baby! ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค˜
  19. As discussed in another thread, I had a surprise chance to find out, though I didn't really put it through its paces:
  20. It's odd it was posted for $5000 like the person who said Shishkov would build a new one or a used one would go for $5000-$5500 on the post about the 2007 Red Flame Maple Top Standard that sold for $7500.
  21. Beatles "Something New".
  22. I remember my father remarking that he didn't know how bad he felt, because it happened so slowly. He was a physician. Glad you recovered and are back to work. I'm sure they're going to keep an eye on you going forward. Don't be a stranger. This is a good place.
  23. Glad you came out better than when you went in. Thanks for letting the rest of us learn from your experience!
