  6. broken ribs hurt, and you have to breathe Heal fast
  7. it's all about the polka dots...
  8. no reason you can't keep one, a blue one, next to the couch for whenever you feel inspired
  9. You definitely have to be aware of the added fees, but you have to be aware of your limit and not get caught up in the moment. Years ago, I remember reading an article in ICE Magazine (a magazine about CDs) about eBay and warning about not getting caught up. They talked to one guy who'd gotten caught up in a bidding war for a promo CD and that "I can't lose this" feeling took over for a while, and he said bidding got up around $500 and he finally said, "What the hell am I doing here?" There's a record store in Tennessee that does live auctions every night on YouTube (and a few others), and there are some things I've bought there, but every now and then something I really want comes up and the price gets out of my comfort zone very quickly. One night, we watched a bidding war for a 45 of Dylan's "Hurricane". Two guys were going back and forth, and the price was escalating rapidly. At one point, somebody said, "These guys know something the rest of us are missing". I looked on Discogs when the bidding went over $600, and there were copies that were in the $40 range. Final price was over $900.
  10. But do you have the triangle down pat?
  11. The Atlanta show next month sold out in the presale. A friend has an extra ticket waiting for me. Since the first video was posted on this message board in February I have been fascinated by all that is going on in Angine de Poitrine's music. There are videos analyzing the timing of the music. The spacing of the microtonal frets got people to experiment with zip ties on their necks. This band is like a science experiment and a book of puzzles.
  12. Back, but in beautiful Sunset Orange: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid
  13. From my experience bidding at the auctions prices tend to get inflated and you end up paying way more than you planned to, especially with 28% buyer premium. For example, I recently bought a military item for less than 50% of what someone won at the auction 15 years ago, and that's not even counting the auction premium in. On top of that, this item was sold through consignment via a dealer, so after factoring in dealer commission and auction fees seller probably recovered 25-30% of what he paid. I prefer to stay away from these auctions.
  14. Ouch! that's going to be a tough call, I can't believe many were made and I would have to believe what were built were all custom ordered. Lefty's no matter who is building them are small in numbers. And IF you find one it's probably going to have a premium price attached. Experts here could comment further.
  15. Mike, I am sorry to read this and I hope your health will improve rapidly. It's a pleasure to know you and your wonderful family. I'm glad I made the trip up to the Shishkov headquarters a couple of times, get to talk to you in person, check out guitars and wood samples. Still love my Shishkov V. All the best for you!
  16. Thanks for posting this Saul. That gentleman is a treasure.
  17. Willie, take care of yourself buddy! I wish you a speedy recovery. Hopefully your lovely daughter will be helping you with your recuperation. P.S. I've really been enjoying my books that I got from you at the Atlanta Show.
  18. Can’t thank you enough for the guitars you made for me. Hoping you get well soon.
  19. My son doesn't have tinnitus, but he grew up with a fan blowing on him when he slept. Now, he hates having the air blow on him. I'm getting him one of these for Christmas!
  20. Decapitiation? arniez

  22. The best-ever version of, "Johnny B. Goode", possibly only rivaled by Frank Marino/Mahogany Rush. JH's use of feedback/whammy on this track is awesome.
  23. I had one a whole lot like that one, a decade or so ago
  24. “Aythe Frehley, lead giTAH! AwwRAT!”
  25. Hey-- they had to sell those Ace Frehley models, so Ace posed for a photo. For some Ace fans that is as much guitar as they can afford.
