As good as he was, his stage moves were a bit.......different. YT videos of earlier shows - when he's not playing guitar - are cringe-worthy. Speaking of guitar, he was a lot better than given credit for.

I thought I could go digital and sold all my amps a few years ago and bought a Line 6 Power Cab Plus. It holds a lot of IRs and I thought it was the way to go. I discovered I like twisting real knobs and the sound of real amps in the room. But, I still use digital to record. And am planning to use my Tone King Imperial Tri Tuby Doobie for recording soon.

This popped up in my Reverb feed and seems extremely reasonable. With a more than tasty sunburst finish. No mention of a case, but I'm betting something useable could be negotiated. I've been using computer based amp modeling programs since Amplitude came out in 2002. I've since upgraded the program and also added their Tonex version. I've also used Guitar Rig, Positive Grid Bias, and a few others. At the time I started my only "real" amp was a Peavy bass amp with a huge Peavey 18-10 bass cabinet. Not conducive to bedroom playing which is mainly what I was doing those days. I since gone back to "real" amps and pedals but still use the computer based stuff for recording. I bought a used Tech 21 amp from submariner (thanks again) and it covers so much ground that I mainly enjoy playing it these days. Will check out the Genome and see. Thanks.

That looks really cool. My first amp was something similar but I can't remember exactly what it looked like. Did your guy remove the death cap? It looks like it still has the two prong plug.

Make that a LOT less money! And you could get even more if your two pedals were the new Clean Fusion Deluxe. Just add a power amp. Or get the CFD AMP version. You are right......I have gotten great traction with the original Ethos into a Mesa Blue Angel for many gigs in the past. But when you need TOOBS.......😉 Yes it does offer up a bit more than the ODS, which is more of a 1 1/2 channel amp (not completely different than an original Mesa Mark Series, where the cascading gain comes on top of the "clean" tone). Having separate tone stacks opens up the switching, and more so with the two buttons for bumping mids and gain on each channel.

This amp, in my estimation, addresses all the operational shortcomings of the typical "D" style amp. Really cool. But I think two Ethos pedals in tandem might get close for a little less money. 😎

I have had this amp for a while. I really like what Andy has done. Great improvements over the original ODS make it very versatile. Way overkill for little old me! I have made no secret about my like for the D type amps.... Anyway, it looks like my downsizing is accelerating a bit. I have a buyer and expect the sale will be completed quickly. If one has an interest in these, worth checking out. As you would expect, not exactly cheap. To say the least! But you can certainly spend more for amps in this range! Besides being a brilliant debut, it is one of the greatest guitar duo albums ever.

My fave band of the 2000s. Seen them too many times to mention, and got to converse with them on occasion. Talking to Justin and Dan together is as close as you'll ever get to talking to Cleese and Idle in their prime. Funny chaps indeed.

the Univox U45 is still a super bargain imo, - when considering the low wattage older amps. My go-to recently has been the Silvertone 1331 (tweed champ ish) I bought just 2 years ago. It has such a great look, this one is a '56, I have no desire for a Fender Champ of any year since I got this. Brent at Solderhaus serviced it a short time ago, he said "it sounds awesome!"

Singer Kelly Holland at the end of the tour in support of Brother. He had some serious demons in terms of mental health and alcohol addiction, and a near-18-month-long tour didn't help. The band recuited Robert Mason for the follow up album, but that platter just lacked the bones and muscle of Brother. Robert was and is a great rock singer, but he simply wasn't Kelly Holland, who many felt was a generational talent on par with Paul Rodgers (no, I shit you not; he was that good). The band was one of those rare lightining-in-a-bottle ensembles where the sum of the parts was quite remarkable and something to behold during the heyday of grunge and birth of nu metal. Without Kelly's voice, the songs on the second album were above average, but not timeless. You probably already know that guitarist Audley Freed went on to replace Marc Ford in the Black Crowes, did lots of guest stints with major artists, and continued writing songs that ended up on country and rock records. He moved to Nashville several years ago where his session work and writing pay the bills. Bassist Rob Kearns hired on with Lynyrd Skynyrd as a touring member and later joined Freed on Sheryl Crow's touring band. Drummer Jason Patterson moved to Texas to join Chris Duarte's band, then eventually moved back to NC where he's played with a Skynyrd tribute band, Tuesday's Gone. Suffice to say that Brother was a healthty supply of oxygen during an era where new music, IMHO, had mostly turned to shit.

I rock this one all the time...
