  1. Past hour
  2. My favorite still is the guy who rolled a 4x12 cabinet from the back of his truck to the front. By 'rolled' I mean it didn't have wheels - he flopped that thing end-over-end. I'm in the house and hear this whump whump whump. I get to the truck and he just has this dumbfucking 'What?' look on his face. Genius. Still worked, though.
  3. Would this help? https://shredlabsguitars.com/
  4. Today
  5. Yes, the cam models are still made. I've noticed an uptick in marketing and promo for Kahler, particularly on social media & YouTube. Though, it has had mixed results. The guy (Rexylab) heading it up and making a presence on various guitar and Floyd-centric FB pages & YT, subscribes to the marketing tactic of controversy & drama = heightened exposure & product sales. Kinda like the corporate version of "even bad publicity is still publicity." I've borne witness to and even participated in pushback to his confrontational style. He was chased out of at least 2 FB groups because of his approach.
  6. If you ever decide to move it on, I'd love to buy it. I don't give a rat's ass about Shakira, but it's a cool guitar and because we only tour in South America I think it would bring me good luck :D.
  7. In another thread (maybe even another forum), someone stated that if your box gets distorted during shipping - say something heavier gets put on it and the end flattens and pushes the end flap out in a V-shape. If they measure it at that point, they will take the longer measurement and boom, upcharge.
  8. But that only works for us short amount of time... Nature finds a way
  9. I get the feeling that's another one of the reasons why business in general is going to AI...not only does it give businesses 'plausible deniability', it also kills off any level of responsibility or culpability.
  10. Are the cam Kahler’s still made? In the 80s I played a bunch of Kahlered guitars but none were mine. I quite liked the feel but never owned a proper locking vibrato other than the Ibanez locker on my 1985 RG440. Now my fave vibrato is my SuperVee Maverick on my Neville custom.
  11. This is a Kahler version of a Floyd. Not much different from a Floyd, save for the auto latch feature…
  12. All tape measures are different, so an inch in this case isn't much. And it would appear their scales are calibrated by a butcher.
  13. Why? If the package isn’t incorrect then you’re overdoing it…just because?
  14. Yesterday
  15. Do you have the printout from UPS to send Reverb? It’s not overly hard to get a reply from Reverb. whenever I encounter any company who does intentionally creative fund raising or manipulative tactics I’ll never step foot on their turf again until there’s been an actual change in management because people who have to be kind by force aren’t worth doing business with at all.
  16. Manually add at least an inch and two lbs. to each ups or fedex.
  17. Hey, gang! Let's start sharing FedEx horror stories now!
  18. I couldn't Kahler less about what trem is on my guitar.
  19. PP offers a cashback Master Card. I think by Synchronicity, like Sweetwater. I use it on every purchase and pay it off each month. I've never had to do a charge back so can't comment but I would imagine it's the same as any card. I use it for the cash back. I have around $200 in my PP account just from this year.
  20. Well that’s a big F U to UPS!!! This thread has maybe gone the wrong way a little. UPS are the villains here and they know it. Thank goodness I rejected my UPS job offer and went to FedEx instead…
  21. I am still yet to use a Kahler trem properly. I only ever had one in my workshop…
  22. Yeah, hell hath frozen over. I bought a Kahler. 😆 This is (one of) their fulcrum trem(s), a Steeler with the Auto Latch which allows me to lock the bridge down as a fixed bridge with the swing of the arm. Now I can do all the whammy shenanigans on a 24 fret Gibby scale SG, as well as fixed bridge passages/techniques. Going on my SG Diablo which is already outfitted with a factory installed Floyd- minimal modification of the cavity needed.
  23. That is a funny and sad question.
  24. Two Tone Sunburst. Had my 03 Standard done in that finish. They got rid of it in 04-05 and just offered the Tobacco Sunburst as a regular finish.
  25. Many years ago, I came upon a partscaster style builder that had a full scale designer based on fixed options for guitar and bass and have you ordered your own design. I remember we have had a discussion back than about this topic and one or a few guys had ordered something individual at the same time. It could be easily 10+ years ago, long before the pandemic. Back then, I had designed a bass guitar and stored the pic in my files. Although I have never come to order, I have loved to look at it for many years. For a stupid reason the pic was lost. So, now I want to kind of redesign "my" bass again. However, I thought it had been Warmoth, But they don't offer a full scale instrument designer on their homepage, at least today. I remember it had been a fairly popular or common builder at the time, but absolutely cannot remember. So, sharpen you brains. Digg into your memories. Which partscaster style builders do you know having an online design tool?
  26. I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen an Artist spec’d exactly like this one before —it’s like a Korina Artist w/ P-90’s only all mahogany. The finish is kind of boring, would’ve been better in Jazzburst, but at least it’s not *RED. BUT what really drew my attention was that if you squint, it almost, Kinda, sorta, resembles a NEWPORT 90. Not bargain priced but who knows what offer they’d accept. https://reverb.com/item/100484701-hamer-artist-semi-hollow-2001-sunburst
  27. I think you're missing my point and we may have to agree to disagree. My dispute with VISA is based on the Visa Reason Code 13.3 (Not as Described/Defective Merchandise). The item I received was defective merchandise and did not work. The transaction meets that official 13.3 Visa Reason code. The insurance issue is the shippers dispute with UPS, not VISA. And, myself and VISA are not involved in the dispute with UPS at all.
