  1. Past hour
  2. I recently ordered a couple custom cabs from TRM ( http://www.trmguitarcabs.com/index.html ) and promptly upon arrival dropped them off with a friend that is very good at applying tolex. Just got the completed pics and will be picking them up asap. I will be rehoming my Suhr SL-15 into the head cab. Speakers still TBD, vertical 2x12 btw. Will probably swap a few different ones in for evaluation. Wish I could play as fast as these look.
  3. It's kind of their thing now. Maybe Fender will sue them. 🤣
  4. I just saw this and it's funny, I expected to click and see the sale extended etc. but no. So few places DON'T do that it actually surprised me.
  5. But still, they'e been feeding the AI for years themselves. Why wouldn't they think it would be used to churn out videos at some point? YT doesn't care about anything but the advertising and that revenue. And as most of these guys Like RB and RS like to say about the old school musicians, things are changing and you have to adapt. They patted themselves on the back for doing YT, and then hung their hats on that. Well, now it's their turn to adapt to a changing landscape.
  6. Today
  7. I just heard that Brent is planning to contribute his version of Star Spangled Banner.
  8. Dang! Missed this post and am in the market for one. Anyone looking to flip, or trade for microblock and pedals, Lmk!
  9. Sometimes side effects become the point; what became Viagra was initially tested to lower women’s blood pressure, seriously. In the primary testing the control portion of men experienced the side effect it’s known for and it was refocused, rebranded and marketed. Diphenhydramine Hydrocloride is another of my favorite examples; it’s used for radically different OTC meds depending on packaging: it’s the ONLY active ingredient in Benadryl (Allergy medicine), Dramamine (motion sickness), and ZzzQuil (Sleep Aid). Do with this neurospicy info what thou wilt. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂 I will say from experience that 5-hour energy shots are awful for playing. Idk if it’s the overdose of B vitamins, or the megadose of caffeine, or the combo, but it cramped my hand and arm muscles to a near palsy at a theater show once, and never again for me. And I love both caffeine and dehydration!
  10. YT pays them to make content so YT can sell commercials such as the ever present yet ever annoying Liberty Biberty Mutual ones. That's here and now, but have no doubt theyve been sucking down content of all types to train AI. Ricky B. has a compelling argument for how more relaxed Copyright exercise actually benefits the artists, but its their prerrogative. Those bands dont have promoters anymore tho, just lawyers. If there was a razor edge trigger to shut down most of your revenue, you'd be moaning too.
  11. Hamers shipped with .009s back then.
  12. I played one and really liked it - was tempted, but never pulled the trigger at $2,499. It was a different time…
  13. Dare I say that is pretty much what the Hamer Talladega Pro was going for? I really liked it a lot. (Yeah, you know me. I had three and let them all go. Jol arguably tried to go upmarket toward the Huber Dolphin and did so as the economy was tanking. His efforts more or less live on with the Dantzig Tulsa. Which I have not played). Pretty much from the moment I got it, the Dolphin spoiled me. You might consider it a mashup of a Tele and LP, what with the coil splits and body shape. Whatever. It made me a better player from day one. I am a broken record😉.....FWIW, I play it a lot more than the Orca 59, which gets closer to a LP (Generally with a 25" scale). FWIW, I would tend to prefer something other than the 490/498 pickups, but YMMV. Anyway, I would suggest trying it before turning the thumb down. Once upon a time you might get a Dolphin in the low $3k range, but them days are long gone. https://www.premierguitar.com/hamer-talladega-pro-review
  14. Great playing and sounding Artist Custom. Rosewood fretboard, frets are in very good condition with some slight wear, but probably 90+% of original height. Weight: 7lbs. 6 oz. Neck depth: 0.87" @ 1st fret, 0.95" at 12th Original Seth Lover pickups and (I assume) original Tone Pros locking bridge and tailpiece. I'm pricing this well below market for a perfect simiar model because of the following: There is a professionally repaired binding separation in the top waist curve; There is a small unrepaired binding separation in the lower cutaway; There are tiny indentations on the back behind the upper horn. these are shallow aand slightly larger than pin pricks. Photos of these imperfections are attached. No COA, but it includes an interesting vintage Hamer merchandise order form. Price: $1,750.00 plus $150.00 shipping, Continental US only. Sorry about the shipping cost and limitation, but that's just the reality of the market at the moment. If you're in the Chicago or Madison, WI area, I'm happy to arrange an in-person hand-off and waive $100 of the the shipping.
  15. GCS did a run of long-scale Les Pauls in 2014. They were more "Standard" in appearance with the exception of split inlays and back binding. They apparently didn't move well and you could pick up a new one for under $3k before they sold out at retail shops. I always wanted to try but never bumped into one in the wild. Used prices climbed pretty quickly into the upper 3s/lower 4s.
  16. Part of the change of CEO?
  17. Nothing new here. Gibson built "long scale" guitars 25 or 30 years ago. Nobody cared. You can buy Nighthawks and Blueshawks for about $1500 or so on Reverb and ebay anytime if you are curious. I never found a Nighthawk that stayed around but I do like my '06 Blueshawk.
  18. Gibson - once again answering a question nobody asked.
  19. I guess this would appeal if you love the aesthetics of an LP but crave the sonic and, to a lesser degree, ergonomic characteristics of a long scale ax. Buckethead plays a baritone 27" scale LP.
  20. Is this a case of "What took you so long?" or "Who in the world would buy this? Discuss. https://www.gibson.com/blogs/gibson-gazette/gibson-custom-announces-les-paul-custom-long-scale
