elduave Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Thanks Ken, you're a prince. *Waterloo is a joke. No disrespect towards mirrorimij*
MCChris Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Oh man! That is KILLER!How'd you talk 'em into moving the tailpiece forward?
edgar_allan_poe Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 The bound F-holes make that guitar. Killer stuff.
gwayne Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 ...and a carved back!! Man, that is beautiful. Congrats.
pesocaster Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Mother F(*&^%$ !!!!!!!Classy as hell.... nice!! Love the headstock veneer... Nice job all!
cmatthes Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Oh yeah...That one looks freakin' amazing. Remind me again what the deal is with the unique center block?Nice work to all involved!
ArtistOwner Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 WOW! That is one beautiful guitar! Congrats! Enjoy and play until your fingers bleed! I know I would! Haha!
atquinn Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Wow! That's probably the best looking Newport I've seen. Hamer should make rosewood overlays standard with rosewood fretboards IMO, that looks so classy!-Austin
Ted Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I am always amazed at how incredible the guys from Hamer are as True Artists!Who ever thought a guitar could bring such joy!So, congratulations on your new, beautifully spectacular Baby!!!
Nuclear Wessel Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 That rosewood is just amazing. Makes it look like a fine old acoustic guitar. What a classy, elegant instrument. Nice.
Guest pirateflynn Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 HOLY S%@T !!!Way to go, Elduave! It's my dream guitar. Solid center block, tail piece moved closer to the bridge, vintage carve neck, sick brazilian, carved back, Tom Holmes PAFs. Insane, insane, insane .......Thanks to Rocketeria. Dave definately has a great personality for this kind of work. Straight up solid dude! Frank Rindone was a pleasure as well and made the Hamer Custom experiance as painless as possible. These guys said "YES" to me a lot! I couldn't be happier ..... thank you.
atquinn Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Oh yeah...That one looks freakin' amazing. Remind me again what the deal is with the unique center block?Nice work to all involved!I was checking out the Hamer site the other day and in the Newport 90 specs they show it has a center block, so I would imagine this has the same construction as far as that is concerned.-Austin
belgian Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Classy !!!! Now send some flowers to Elduave and the Hamer crew !
luiss Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Simply beautiful!Congrats Ken,I do love natural finish in Hamers.
ArnieZ Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 That is one friggin beautiful guitar, Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ArnieZ
GusS Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 That one looks freakin' amazing. Remind me again what the deal is with the unique center block?
elduave Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 How'd you talk 'em into moving the tailpiece forward?Just asked.Remind me again what the deal is with the unique center block?Ken just wanted a center block. Now send some flowers to Elduave...Or chocolate. Also, notice that they've changed the tuners to Pearloid. I dig that more than the blatant Chrome on that style tuner.
JohnnyB Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Congrats, Ken. Very classy specs with the Brazilian rw, carved back, art deco tuners, bound f-holes, matching headstock, etc. I think this may give you what you've been looking for in Newports and ES-335s. Have fun, and I bet this thing gives up some tones and playing dynamics you hadn't even thought of!
sw686blue Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Wow, what a work of art. Moving the bridge is, as my engineering prof would say, the master stroke!Beauty!!!

Have fun, and I bet this thing gives up some tones and playing dynamics you hadn't even thought of!Thanks JohnnyB. You and I have been talking about 335s and Newports for awhile now and it's sweet to see this guitar come together.Oh man! That is KILLER!How'd you talk 'em into moving the tailpiece forward?Wow, what a work of art. Moving the bridge is, as my engineering prof would say, the master stroke!Beauty!!!That one looks freakin' amazing. Remind me again what the deal is with the unique center block? Thanks! The tailpiece position and the center block were key. Elduave and I tried to get this guitar through once before but Hamer wasn't interested in doing a center block at that time (which allows for the tail piece move and a difference in tone of course) ...... so we put it off for awhile. When I saw that Hamer used a center block for the 3 Filtertron Newport we approached Hamer again and it was a go!
