DaveinSF Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I have 3 USA Hamers that I will probably be selling soon, barring ridiculously low resale value. In fact, with the current economy, I'm afraid I don't know what is a reasonable selling price for these anymore. Any suggestions?'93 black/yellowburst Special with P90sthin slim taper neckserial # 33215 (in Hamer database, page 87)just under 8 lbs.some minor indentations, scrapes, etc., will not come out in photos. Nothing to the wood. Very slight worming in a small portion to the back, no buckle rash. Probably a 7/10<a href="http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q258/DaveinSF/?action=view¤t=IMG_0116.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q258/DaveinSF/IMG_0116.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>'93 cherry sunburst Studiothin-medium neckserial # 334378 (not yet in database)8 lbs.some minor indentations with ding on the rear side of the lower horn. specialk Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Sorry, your pics didn't make it through. Make sure you use the "direct link" from Photobucket.I'd like to see the black/yellowburst Special. As far as prices, good question. Whatever someone else wants to pay I guess, but I think the 93 Special would go for between $400-$600.Good luck!On edit: Thanks to chap for getting the pics! That Special looks nice....

sw686blue Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 The Special should fetch about $550. The flame maple Studio about $700 and the mahogany Studio about $675.
atquinn Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I would think a bit more for the mahogany studio actually, but what the hell do I know -Austin
unfun75 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 The Special should fetch about $550. The flame maple Studio about $700 and the mahogany Studio about $675.I'd add 50 bucks to those prices. But in this economy... you may be right.
crunchee Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 These are still bargains in my mind, regardless of cost, if you compare them to the rough equivalent Gibson junk. I'd be tempted to snag one if I wasn't downsizing my gear myself.
davidd Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Dave in SF:Nice guitars. Are you in San Francisco by any chance?davidd"David in Belmont"
skydog Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Those are 3 very beautiful, professional grade instruments. You need to make an honest assessment of the values of the guitars to yourself; what are they worth to you. Then set your price and stick to your guns. If they don't sell today, there's tomorrow. Of course, this line of thought is only if you don't need to sell them. JMHO
burningyen Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I would definitely charge more for the Studio Mahogany, you don't see those very often.
DaveinSF Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks for posting the pics for me, Chap. I appreciate it.I just wanted to add that I don't have the OHSC for the '93 Special, nor the '01 STUM Mahogany Studio. The '93 Special would come packed in a foamcore semihardcase beater to protect it in shipping. The Mahogany would come in a Dean HSC that fits it perfectly. I do have the OHSC for the Studio, but the one latch at the base of the guitarcase towards the strap knob end is broken off. Not a lot of great stuff going on with the cases, admittedly, but the guitars are good.
bubs_42 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I'm drooling over that Mahogany Studio... I hear a set up Gregwinds calling for that one.
veatch Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Given the current economy, you'll likely need X-Rays. Seriously: I, too, dig the Mahogany Studio... Good stuff.
Sofa King Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 DAMN IT!!!! PM me a price on the Studio mahogany... wife is gonna divorce me yet..
specialk Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Hi Dave,Figured out a price for the '93 P-90 Special?
bruce919 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 That studio Mahogany used to be mine. It got a nice chunky neck.
HoboMan Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 UPS dropped off the Sunburst Studio about 30 minutes ago and I gotta say that this guitar is AMAZING.Plays fantastic and the maple top is Gorgeous.DaveinSF rated it about a 6-1/2 to 7 but I would rate it about a 9. It's in much better condition than he said in his ad.DaveinSF is a stand up guy that went out of his way to help me get this guitar from him. He did way more than he needed to, not because he was desperate to sell but because he honestly wanted to help out someone who really wanted to buy his guitar. Thanks A BUNCH Dave.Gotta go play my new guitar now.DaveinWI
DaveinSF Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Great to hear you are happy, Dave! The neck and action on that guitar is particularly sweet. You are giving me seller's remorse, but I am glad it went to a good home and a happy owner. That concludes the sale of all three. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with buying a used Hamer that has been taken care of.Dave UPS dropped off the Sunburst Studio about 30 minutes ago and I gotta say that this guitar is AMAZING.Plays fantastic and the maple top is Gorgeous.DaveinSF rated it about a 6-1/2 to 7 but I would rate it about a 9.
