atquinn Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I've decided that, at the end of the day, I just don't like strats. So, I bought another CU22 Soapbar to replace the one I sold last month. Expensive, but, hey I have the money and you only live once... Anyway, that means it time for this 1992 T62 (serial# 230613) to move out. As you can see, it's in good condition. There are some indentations in the surface (nothing I could catch on camera and nothing that breaks the finish), and some finish damage by the upper strap button (a dunlop strap button is shown, but I put back the schaller straplock buttons that were on the guitar when I received it). Also, the low-E Sperzel tuner no longer locks (it was fine when I got it, but when I replaced the strings, it refused to lock back in place; it works fine as a regular tuner). This guitar also has a cool matching headstock, which I think is pretty rare for these. It comes with the original hardshell case and original white pickguard. I'm looking to get $735 shipped. Paypal's fine, but you'll have to kick in the extra 3%. I'm not looking to do any trades at this time; I have a few guitars coming in and I'm looking to make some space for them. Don't be surprised if you see a couple more guitars on sale from me in the next week or so (depends on how I get along with the ones that are on their way ). Please email me at atquinn1975 @ yahoo.com if you're interested.
anotherfreak2 Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Holy Seafoam! I would have traded You that Cali for that one! That's perty
SirDouglas Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 doood thats beautiful... the neck is fantastic.. damn... Randy
blackfbiv Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 How much for the chair or the cat? Cat chowder again, Lou? Dion
atquinn Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 How much for the chair or the cat? You mean how much will I pay you to take the cat? (I kid! I kid!) AnotherFreak, I think I got the T62 a few days after I got the Cali, so I would have had to bend time to trade you for the Cali As far as the neck goes I can't really tell if it's thin or not. I've loved all the Hamer necks I've played, so it's not an issue for me. I'll have to do some comparisons with my other Hamers and get back to you. -Austin
atquinn Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 O.k., sorry to be vague regarding the questions, but I don't have access to accurate measuring equipment.Neck: The necks on my Diablo and 90 Cali are both pretty shallow. The neck on the 95 Cali has more depth. The neck on the T62 is somewhere in-between, more towards the Cali depth. Weight: I don't have a scale handy, but the guitar's pretty light (only my Diablo is lighter).-Austin
kizanski Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 That's a FOBP (Formerly Owned By Poe) Hamer.I had that one for a couple of months and came *this close* to keeping it (but then that was Poe's plan). It's a great guitar.

Thanks for the props. This guitar has gone through a few owners, hopefully it will end up being a perfect fit for someone out there.
belikerick Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I'd just like to add that I bought this T-62 from Kiz and sold it to Austin. Not only is this the most beautiful strat style guitar I have ever seen, but this guitar beats the hell out of any F*nder I have ever played! And that was the rub, I didn't play it. Like Austin, I guess I'm just not a strat guy - it's just not the tone I look for in a guitar. Consequently, this guitar probably got a total of 5-10 hours of play at home in the past couple of years and spent the rest of time in it's case.I really had a hard time making the choice to sell it, but have been trying to thin the collection and hope someone who loves strats can own it, play it and appreciate it.
edgar_allan_poe Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Yup...I remember that one. I had 4 of these at one time. All of them were spectacular strats. I had 2 seafoams and they were absolutely awesome. This one was in particularly good shape and the matching headstock is uncommon for the T-62. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why these don't get the props that a Daytona does. I have owned several of both models and there is simply no comparison. The T-62 pimp slaps every Daytona I have ever played, and that includes a few one of a kind Daytonas. The only argument that you could make to me that would make sense would be neck size...all of the T-62s I have owned have smaller necks. Not tiny, but definitely on the small side. This is a killer guitar in every way. Kiz wanted to keep them, but the dude has bear paws for hands…lol.

The neck is small because these are 7/8 sized guitars, they are not skinny at all.The building quality is on par with Tom Anderson strats - the prices are not.I have two of these and I am keeping them.....

Not tiny, but definitely on the small side. When you say small neck do you mean depth (front-to-back) or width (side-to-side)? The T62 seems to be the same width as my other Hamers, but out of 5 Hamers, there are 4 different depths and they're all really comfortable to me. I think my hand must pay more attention to width and fret size when it comes to necks.

Don't be fooled, I am not talking about an Ibanez neck here...they still have some beef, and I never had a problem playing any of mine, but I have heard more than one guy with larger hands claim that they were uncomfortable. I have had some monster necks come through here and never had a problem with any, and the T-62 was quite comfortable for me. In fact it is one of my favorite Hamer necks.
doody Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 My T-62 has the perfect neck for me. If I ever do a custom order, I'm sending them that neck to copy the carve.

My T-62s all had my favorite Hamer necks. I don't know what it was about them, but all of them were perfect for me. I will own another some day...no doubt.
Zoner Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 O.K., I really dig the look of this guitar but need some skinny on the EQ thingie. I read some reviews and comments that all indicate "you can use it to boost for solos". Yeah, but how about just getting different tones at the same general level? Adjustable gain, or just cut/boost at different frequencies? I always had an issue with the typical Strat bridge PU setting(led to my Daytona finding a new home, even with the excellent tone control), so if this would allow some "fattening up" without jacking the level too much it would appeal to me. I understand the ABM unit is pretty nice too - is it all steel? Thanks for any info as I am approaching level Orange on the newly implemented G.A.S. Attack warning system. ZOh, and how much additional noise when it is engaged?
