  1. Actually, #0004 was delivered to Elduave on Sunday, at his 50th Birthday Bash. Ted's #0002 arrives via a special carrier sometime today.
  2. Not at all. It's with Ted. Brent didn't order one.
  3. Interesting, because that person doesn't have his guitar yet, and it isn't even in the first batch or two. Maybe he has a time machine?
  4. Well, as of yesterday, the first three had been delivered. The fourth lands today in the cold Midwest. Two of the three who have had them since last Sunday have been on the road for most of the week. Not a lot of time for video/audio recording, but that will certainly be a possibility soon I'm sure. Eventually, we'd like to get some demos/tone reports up on the Shishkov main site.
  5. Not much. Not much at all!
  6. I'm still experimenting with mine. The neck is...well, PERFECT (for me). It's nice and full feeling without being chunky, clunky or slow. The board feels a little wider than my 2008 Standard, but that could be due to the profile - I actually prefer it. Fast, slick and not a dead spot anywhere. Really a joy to play. Just to note, I did ask Mike to make a bigger neck profile than usual. As far as the tone, again, I'm still playing around with different amps and settings, but it has a nice "bark" and "chime" on the bridge pickup - nice sparkle, a full, but slightly nasally tone in-between, and a really nice creamy neck pickup tone. I actually like it with the volume and tone pots backed off a tick or two and a little more push from the amp. I've still got many hours of playing around, but am really having fun with it. I will say that the chambering definitely contributes something to the overall tone. It's a little more midrangey than a few other similar solidbodies, but has a bit of a smoother, more compressed thing going on - tough to explain, but I am really liking it. I've honestly been having so much fun playing it that I'm not really taking notes or anything!
  7. Yes. Coming very soon - just working out a bug or two! That'll be a new thread though.
  8. Totally agree. I'll do my best to take some good outdoor shots if the weather permits this coming weekend. That should be getting close to the time some other new Shishkovs start hitting their owner's doors too..
  9. It's BLUEBURST, but it changes color depending on the light. A very subtle burst around the edges that disappears when looking at it from some angles. The pic with Mike and me holding it is probably the closest to the way it appears to my eyes. In most regular indoor lighting, it looks Blue. Under fluorescent or dimmer lighting, there is a purple cast to it, especially over the mahogany back. In sunlight, it looks like a lighter, medium Blueburst. It's really cool!
  10. It's Mike's own design. Hand carved, and very classic looking. I'll post a detail shot later on tonight, but I think it looks great - different, yet familiar.
  11. He's just being a dick.
  12. Cold, Bubs...COLD!!!
  13. There will be opportunities to order after this run, for sure, just at the regular (relatively reasonable) pricing! I had the distinct pleasure of delivering Elduave his at his most excellent 50th Birthday bash yesterday. I think he likes it! This one has so much character - in the top, the back, the TONE! This is a RAWK machine. Here's a teaser... I already called "DIBS"!!!! Some more of #0004:
  14. I spent close to 16 hours in the car this weekend, am sick as a dog and wiped out, but it was TOTALLY worth it. I stopped by Mike's place and was just blown away. I'll just show pics of the one that followed me home to stay, but I did deliver two others. These are crappy cell phone pics - I'll take some REAL pics later.
  15. The one for sale is a 1992 model, so not the catalog Virt, eh?
  16. It most certainly would not be original.
  17. Correct - the SS2 is also more contoured. Those are both SS-1s.
  18. Agreed - the Fuschia one is a refin.
  19. Jol has the Ferrari red one with the LED button in the monkey grip. He recently posted a pic of it in his blog too...
  20. I WON a Steve Vai autographed Ibanez back in the very early '90s as winner (or loser?!) of "the Worst Guitarist on Delmarva" Competition. I'm going to have to dig up that article as there is Hamer content...
  21. The truth? I witnessed the press release of that model within minutes of it being trumpeted on Gibson's website. Within a few short hours, there were HUNDREDS of hateful, mocking and just plain funny posts, lambasting Gibson for even thinking of releasing that abomination. Within 12 hours, the site had crashed twice and every gear site was pointin to it , almost unanimously poking fun at the horse's ass who greenlit that piece if shit. The site was scrubbed clean within 48 hours and all mention of the model disappeared. GONE. I think the negative backlash was simply too much, and I'll bet some idiot(s) got canned.
