Just picked up a 4pk of Duvel. Now I have someone to toast with it! Enjoy your day, MCC!

The Darkness was one of the better shows I've seen in the last 5 years. I've seen a LOT of really good shows in that time period too, but they were totally living it up - it was a full-on, '70s style, big rawk show. Yes, they are currently residing in the "Where are they now?" file, but that was a damned good live band.

Here's one of those (Serial's old one): -
Hamer guitar pick-ups of the 80`s

The Hamer stamped pickup is a Hamer "Slammer" pickup. DiMarzio wound to Hamer specs. I'd check with DiMarzio on that one. -
Import - Stellar. Nicer quality bridge though (2 pt Wilkinson trem).

Exactly - that'd get you through pretty much ANY gig!

(SORRY!) I bet you could still do the Raygun attachments, and a lot cheaper and more efficient than they were on the original. Now, about those 2 slanted singlecoils... !! Still one of my favorite Hamers of all time. -

Steve's "Ray Gun" SS model is a black metalflake one. It has the fuschia/pink logo and the signature on the body. That was one of the coolest Hamers I've played. -

Hmmmmmmmmm... -
No kidding - that ebony board is a great thing.

I remember him playing one of those with Let's Active a few times in the mid/late '80s. It was pretty much that and a pair of RICs during that time period (around "Big Plans" and "Every Dog"). Always thought that was pretty unique, and have only seen a small handful for sale in the last 20+ years. In a relatively unrelated "Plate of Shrimp" moment, I (literally) bumped into John Heames sister over the weekend in Winston.

My favorite of all time...made great (and super light!) by Hamer, made unbelievable by Stike: Still one of the guitars I reach for the most. Here's another cool one I miss every now and then: I'm comforted to know that it's in good hands though!

Yep - my early '80s Special w/Floyd didn't have a recessed plate either. It was a B/W/B plastic plate with the lower left corner cut at an angle so it didn't overlap the control cavity plate. -
Jol gives props to some 80s designs

Or somebody offered him $700 to end it early! A shop down the street from my office here has one that has been there for at least 8 years. It's behind a wall grate on a stand in a visible storage room with about 10 other guitars on stands and a bunch of piled-up cases. I asked the shop dood/owner about it one time and he completely denied that it was there, and acted like he'd never heard of Hamers except for that he sort of remembered them making guitars for Steve Stevens back in the '80s. When I pointed out where it was, he still denied that he had one in his shop - ever. Not interested in going back there, personally, despite the fact that an HFC'er scored a stupidly rare and incredible, low 4-digit 3 pickup Vector with an L-5 board and crazy binding in that shop a while back. A friend/co-worker went in about a year ago, saw the guitar on the same stand (reported that it had a thick coating of dust on it). Both guys in the shop denied it was there then too. Weird... -

Those Miller guitars ARE nice. A guy I used to play with had one and let me hold on to it for a while. I didn't want to give it back. -

Awesome! -
Wuss! Actually, there are a few Blitz guitars out there without trems. I can think of a couple Sustain-blocked ones and the elusive double-bound, tangerine metalflake one that still hasn't surfaced in the close to 20 years since it was last hanging on the wall of my (then) local Hamer pusher.

Vintage Fender speaker cable question
cmatthes replied to unfun75's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I had the same thing on my late 70s/early 80s Silverface Bassman 70 head/cab. Little black round plastic caps with the "F" logo, pretty cheap construction (hey, it was CBS-Fender, right?!). I think the brown caps (should be really dark brown) are from the mid-70s. Some guy with a 70s Silverface is probably scouring eBay looking for one of those right now! -
Well, he's definitely qualified!! Just lacks the look. "Bubbles" is a great actor as well. Hell though, I'm just glad they're doing the movie.

Damn, Brooks! That's PERFECT! I knew he reminded me of somebody... That was a damned good show. Much better choice that that CSI guy!
