  1. Damned straight there! I've had this one for close to 20 years. One loud little bostid!
  2. It's good to be the king. You have pretty much everything you need then. Except an Electric 12... ...and something with a P-90... ...and a fretless bass... ...and a hollowbody Bigsby thing... (then again, if you don't NEED those things, life is great!)
  3. Full scale, all glorious 22 frets!
  4. How much for the TV Junior in the background?
  5. Maybe Japanese v. Taiwanese production? That seems to be all the rage in the internet forums. People are paying crazy money for essentially the same damned things, I guess thinking they'll take off like orig. Tube Screamers. Otherwise, I back up the crack comment.
  6. Stike: I think I found the perfect case for your LP (and mine, for that matter):
  7. Good eye, Kiz! Yep - I actually just slipped it out of the plastic shipping bag to snap that pic. It has never been used before. It fits the LP like a glove, but is a bit bulkier than the checkerboard 535ish case the LP resides in now. Roy - did you get that Mutron and the Marshall at the auction a few years ago? I saw the auction catalog in the background...
  8. The closest I've gotten to Ace's LP... It was the perfect Cherry Sunburst when I first bought it back in '81, but I like the finish now much better.
  9. This one is Brad's #138. I used to own his matching full-sized Standard, #137 (Bright Cherryburst, figured rosewood board, gold hardware, etc.). This is me with his mini (#138):
  10. That reminds me of the DVD I picked up a few years back with footage from the early '90s with all these hard rock bands. Some gems in there too, but I was watching it and all of a sudden our own Gene "BTMN" Kelly appears in the London Quireboys segment, throwing down devil horns and rawkin'! I blurted out, "HEY! I know that dude!" Something like that, anyway.
  11. James Honeyman-Scott on the first Pretenders album was another watershed moment for me. I remember hearing that on the one local radio station that played the good stuff, and I'm sure I did one of those cartoon-y double takes.
  12. He had a greenburst 4 digit Standard, a white B-12S and a Natural Flamey B-12s for sale the week I stumbled on the HFC. I know where two out of the three of those are now (w/HFC'ers).
  13. I also thought about some Richard Thompson stuff. Although "Valerie" is a favorite song, he's got tons of that stuff up his sleeve.
  14. I literally laughed out loud over that one!
  15. "Mary Provost", by Nick Lowe comes to mind.
  16. I like it on ya, Geoff!
  17. Ding ding ding!!! PF with the swish!
  18. In my opinion, unless you can actually PLAY, it doesn't matter how good an amp sounds. Bashing out "Smoke On The Water" on you Stevens. PS or Soloway through a Trainwreck or Dumble will still sound like a three-year-old with a broken hand on a Mickey Mouse guitar. I wish I could have recorded some of the conversations going on at the lunch table behind me at the Experience PRS gathering last fall between a pair of (alleged) Dumble owners. That would be primo YouTube fodder! Sorry, but this thing called "Reality" doesn't get through to everybody. Of course, it's not about how things sound, it's about how cool you look/sound to the guys you want to impress, right? On the other hand, a top-line studio may be able to use it, but the price may be prohibitive.
  19. Along those lines, add "Million Miles Away", by the Plimsouls, "September Gurls" by Big Star and "Starry Eyes" by the Records.
  20. FYI, I'm pretty sure Larry Carlton did not play on Kid Charlemagne. The guy who did was profiled in Guitar Player magazine sometime in the last 10 or so issues, but can't remember his name offhand. IIRC, this came up in another thread here as well. I have been known to mix up my Dan guitarists ( ), but I think L.C. actually DID play that solo.
  21. Forgot about The Dan. Denny Dias' solo in "Rikki" is another classic (at least I thought it was DD). Jon Brion's solo in "Same Thing" from the Grays' "Ro Sham Bo". Hits right where it should. Rick Witkowski's solo in "Hot Razors" (Crack the Sky) J. Mascis' solo(s) in "Out There". Talk about falling down stairs and landing on your feet - he's the master of that!
